what about luke snow from magnet? he held their defense together all year Luke is a great player (one of those All-Athlete nominees) and I think that he has been slighted two years in a row out of All-State honors. He is amazing whether on defense or midfield and is fast, aggressive and fearless.

Creduer played the first three weeks of the season at midfield then went back to defence. Sorry but we will have to agree to disagree on this topic!

Congrats to all boys who made the team.
Once again, remember... don't blame the process. Blame the participation. Boys side really lacks participation in comparison to the girls side.
Also notice this... very rarely, if ever, can you say that a player on either first or second team doesn't deserve All State. Most of the complaints are when a player is deemed to be unfairly omitted from the team.
1. Is there coach a member of the association? If not... what is the reason? 2. Did their coach (or another member coach) nominate them? 3. Did their coach turn in a ballot?
The voting participation on the boys side is embarrassing when compared to the girls side. THIS needs to change next year. Players... URGE your coach to join the association. Urge you coach to nominate deserving players from your team and district. Urge your coach to fill out their ballot by the deadline.
The process is only as good as the participation.
Stay tuned for some REALLY big announcements from the Coaches Association in the next few days!

I want to see the all state list with all purpose players. Someone throw out three 1st team all purpose players and three 2nd team on top of the ones already chosen. That would be really interesting.

absolute bs, the coaches can not be serious. defensive mvp of a loaded district doesnt even make 2nd team? Shreve's keeper, Matt Green falls into that catagory as well. He was named Defensive MVP of District 1 and was not named to the state team. However as a Shreve fan, I am elated with this team. I thought Brennan was a lock for the team, but didn't expect him to get the MVP award. Way to go Brennan!!! Will Monsour deserved his spot on the team. He may be the best "All-Purpose" player in the state. He excelled at whatever position Coach Smith needed him this year and came up huge in the most important matches. I am so happy for Coach Matt Smith. He has never gotten the credit he deserved for what he had done at Shreve. He and his wife are skiing out west and this sure will be a nice coming home present for him. Getting 2 kids named to the second team also was a nice surprise, but given the success the team had this season it is well deserved. Connor and Kevin were 2 of the main reasons Shreve had the success they did this season and they both deserve the recognition they got yesterday. Also want to say well done to Zach Kelly. He also had a great year. Congrats to everyone on the team. I'm sure there are lots of other players who deserved to be named as well. There always is.

The only player that I took completely off was the 2nd team goalie I'm not even from shreveport and I think Matt should have gotten it he was good. The rest I just moved around and replaced them with players I thought were deserving. People can definitely make corrections to mine I kinda threw this together

Shrevedad is right about Matt Green. He defianitely should have gotten at least 2nd team over St. paul's GK. Shreve scored 4 goals on St. P and Green only had something like 13 goals socred on him the whole season. Don't understand that reasoning. The shreveport players that received honors deserved them. Congrats all.

while I believe all of the kids picked on 1st and 2nd team are deserving, I am disappointed in two things. One - not one LHS player made first team and second Matt Green didn't get any all state honors. This is just my opinion, the coaches voted and we need to respect their choices. There is not ONE player on the list that isn't worthy.
henery10 what does making an ODP team have to do with the body of work in high school? The coaches need to vote on that and that ONLY! Like I said all the players that made it are worthy but I was hoping and pulling for a couple of kids I thought should have been on the list. Congrats to all of the all-state selection, YOU ALL ARE WORTHY of the honor!

And by the way, Matt Green's a 90...Pretty sure he'd make the 92 team. And yeah the keeper could have done things about the goals, one being his positioning on the third. He's a good keeper yeah, but don't get your panties all bunched up over someone giving somebody else credit.

I am not taking anything away from the 2 keepers that made it, but I was disappointed that Matt didn't make All-State because he was phenomenal for Shreve in so many games this year (having only 9 goals scored against him in regular season). I am sure the voting was tough because there seemed to be a lot of talent throughout the state this year.

Only thing that could possibly be said about this- Please stop making excuses for coaches that do not care enough to do there homework before they go to the meeting to vote. Every adult that is involved in the lives of these young men should keep in mind the responsibility they shoulder. A mistake was made, take your licks, apologize to the boys that got slighted, acknowledge that although this seems like a small thing, it is monumental in their lives and worthy of recognition. You do not have to take anything away from the players that got the honor, but there are young men out there you owe an apology, be honorable and give them that. The socialist soccer name is a joke... that is what it seems you are all trying to practice..............

Worth noting that voting is done by email ballot prior to the meeting. The teams are merely announced at the meeting.

Who do yall feel should be removed from 1st team for an LHS player? That is the only way they would fit. I'm looking at the list and its hard for me to decided who really doesn't belong. PM if you don't want to put it on the board.

For those of you who haven't caught the hint, I did vote for Daniels at the forward position, and do I agree with him being listed as an all-state defender, no, but there are alot of things I don't agree with.
However, I know alot of the coaches in the association working their tails off to get players noticed and improve the quality of soccer not only for there school, but for this state that goes GREATLY unapperiated.
Many wonder why this site doesn't get recognition from coaches, and/or coaches don't post anything here. You are see-ing exactly why in this thread. And therefore I chose to stand up for both Daniels (who I don't even know) and those guys who are least trying to help out Louisiana soccer but being critized because of a few "uninformed" votes.

Well I think they should have done like last year and put 5 players on midfield and defense and 4 on the forwards. This way, LHS players could have been recognized without removing anyone. I would then have had a hard time deciding just two players out of Daniel, Reuther and Connor for 1st Team. Does anyone know why they changed the format for this year?

Panther I agree It hink everyone on first team is legit and definitely deserves recognition. However, I think an argument could have been made for mendoza over mckinnis and ewing over mingo or credeur.
