BR paper showing Gibbs scored last night for Dutchtown -- so they're either confident of her status, or they got a ruling.

A tough as nails, brutal, well played match, BRHS controlled the flow of play for the first 15 mins. They possessed and passed very well. SJA then found its rhythm as Helm began finding space. BRHS sent 2, sometimes 3 people at her when she received.
The first goal was set up by a Helm run into the right side of the box. She sent a cross that ricocheted off a BRHS defender to Caroline Focht at the top of the box, and she ripped the net.
Both teams had opportunities the rest of the half. BRHS' Emily Segura got off shot that glanced off the cross bar.
It was 1-0 @ the half, SJA.
SJA significantly stepped up its attack in the 2nd half. Helm got several looks and also hit one of the cross bar. She also got a ball that Abby Segura came out for and had a look at open net, but the ball went wide left.
Leah Aultman got off a rocket from about 35 that Abby Segura just saved.
Emily Segura got fouled in the 66th minute, and Ashford placed the free kick into upper right 90 -- a very nice shot.
SJA responded well to the BRHS goal. They pressed and attacked, and it looked like BRHS was playing for OT, when Helm fired a bullet from the 18 in the 75th minute that Segura couldn't handle.
I'd put possession at even in the 1st half, but 60-40 SJA in the 2nd.
A very good game. Congrats to BRHS. Congrats to the Red Dawgs for the district championship!
