We had golden goal in our playoff game. I see trying to avoid PKs, but golden goal is just about horrific as it gets. Even tame shots to the gk gets your heart in your mouth. You'd feel so bad for the kid who makes that slight error. Whereas pks it's still 6+ people directly involved from your team

That was a great game of soccer. Definetially worth the price. Both teams fought hard and this one went down to the wire. I'm sure a few people will be on with recaps. Also, the refs did a great job in my opinion.
Congrats to FHS on a great season, good luck to SSA as they continue their playoff run.

Phenomal game. well played by both sides. For me it came down to moves made and possibly moves that could have been made. SSA made a few key substitutions in the second half to spell key players, especially in the mid-field when they could. There was a sequence in there as well when the game was being chased where the line-up appeared to shift from a 2-4-4 to a 3-4-3 by moving the left center back up top. Ironically this was the player who finished on the tying second goal. Once level SSA dropped back into its comfort zone, relying on counter attacking fhs high pressure. FHS relied heavily on long balls and consequently the front line must have run a half marathon out there. This strategy really began to wear on the strikers and a move not made in finding five minutes somewhere in there to allow key players to recover may have diminished effective attacks late. I am no expert in HS substitution rules, but you do not need to be to see that #3, a great player, had red lined and was finding trouble recovering over and over. The heart was there, just needed some help from the bench. Maybe some real recovery for five minutes might have made a difference. Both goalies had great nights IMO. The penalties were another story. SSA appeared less affected by the moment, and I have no doubt coach Mike has known for 'years' who he would go to in this situation. Other than the third penalty attempt, FHS was unlucky with the first two not being on frame. SSA penalty kicks were tournament final quality. Nothing spectacular, just well placed within the frame. The game was so well played both ways it was hard for either side to have deserved the loss. And the ref crew did a good job IMO. I have experienced the center before in a premier tournament, I understand the game he calls now. He lets the girls play, and sometimes thats all anyone should ask for.
