Thanks Pompey. It was a super season. MCA was very good. You can tell all those girls play premier. First touch and ability to distribute ball was a huge difference. NELSA does the best it can, but it does not have a premier program. The West Monroe girls did a great job to get this far and I hope that they realize it.
Pan American was a pretty field and the MCA fans were very nice. Best of luck to them the rest of the way.

DHS keeper makes save on the 5th kick after all 9 before that went in. Obviously a great game.
Congrats to nutmeg and dhs.

Great girls who will be missed. Becca is part of a strong junior class. Becca, Mollie, KK, Stephanie, Aly, Miranda, Simone, Rachel and Sierra are all good players. East Ascension was a very good team at the St. Amant tournament. Gave us the best game all weekend.

Great game between MHS and DHS. Two excellent teams. On the other hand, the parents of DHS stomping the aluminum bleachers with their feet while the MHS players were taking their PK kicks was very unsportmanship like. This is a parellel to playing golf and the audience making LOUD beating sounds while the golfer trys to take the last putt of the game. Really DHS parents? They are 15, 16, 17 and 18 year olds -- give them all support.

moregoalswin, I think it is more of a parellel to a kicker in football attempting to kick the winning field goal. You make as much noise as you can. Those who can handle the pressure will shine. Most players are able to block out the noise because they are so nervous and focused. And yes in football there is no difference except it is boys and not girls. Helping your team, whether it is being quiet while your team shoots or making noise while the other team shoots, is a part of sports that we may all feel different about.

Yo Moregoalswin--what game were you watching? The Dominican parents were not stomping when the Mandy girls were kicking. Moreover, I guess you didn't see the numerous Dominican fans clapping for the Mandy girls when the Skippers came over to salute their parents and fellow students after the game. By the way, there is nothing in the Rules of the Game that prohibit spectators from cheering during PKs. Finally the coaches are good friends and run class programs.

I was at the game from start to finish. My daughter brought to my attention the pk noise. She was specific about the groups and where the noise was coming from. She doesn't hear anything when she is on the field playing, yet during the PKs she heard everything. She wasn't doing PKs, she was being polite and watching the game with her team. Your right wideout, it is not in the rules........ Parents yell at the refs, scream at the ballboys... oh and are disrespectful when PKs are being shot-- that is ok??? I guess we need to have rules for parents. What does the coaches have to do with the parents in the stand? What does after the game have to do with PKs?

wow, people. Do you really think that the girls can't handle some stomping in the stands. They may be teenage girls, but they are athletes. Give them some respect. Soccer is not Golf. Thank the Lord. Congratulations to all the teams who have made it this far. And congratulations to WM on a great season. Now get ready for select Becca and Simone.

If you are a keeper and/or a shooter and some noise in the stands distracts you, then you don't belong being a keeper or a shooter.
Spit out the sour grapes and be thankful you were in the quarterfinals. There were 24 other teams that wish they had the noise problem your team faced.

The DHS parents did stomp the bleachers during the first MHS kick. She buried the kick. After that the MHS parents decided to yell too. One screamed "Miss It" really loudly as the DHS kicker approached the ball. Then it seemed to stop. I think both sides realized that while it's completely within the rules to do so, yelling just ain't cool after these girls left everything on the field for the past 2 HOURS. At least I'd like to think that's why the yelling stopped and people decided to be a little more respectful. It was basically dead quiet for the 3-5 kicks.

Just another reason soccer is treated "different". Why is it disrespectful for yelling, stomping, whatever at a high school soccer game, but at a high school football game its ok, and even worse, at a high school basketball game the gym rocks when free throws are shot at a key point of the game, or hell throughout the whole game. Volleyball - noise, Baseball - noise, softball - noise........................ soccer - oh please be quiet, its disrespectful................... oh please! Is Soccer atheletes that much different? sensitive (like the refs)? Its a sport, noise (yelling, stomping) should be a part of it.......... getover it or always have your sport treated differently.

I feel in no way did the noise have any effect on the outcome of the game. I just feel like it didn't belong in this game, on this night. But like oeohfppe said, it quickly got very quiet. Every soccer game is different and maybe you just had to be there. Both teams played amazing for 90 mins, 20 min ot, and another 10 golden goal ot. Highly intense and stressful the entire game. A lot of girls played the entire game and were mentally and physically exhausted. It's not about the parents sitting in the stands, it's about the girls on the field. I think everyone, both sides, realized that and just sat in silence as the girls did their pks. Not because we thought they couldn't handle it, like I said before, it didn't belong in this game, on this night.
