Northlake Christian, (23-4-2) the number 2 seed has outscored playoff opponents 16-2. This season they have outscored opponents 126-16. To make it to this final game Northlake defeated Thomas Jefferson 10-1, then West Feliciana 4-0, then Country Day 2-1, and finally Episcopal B.R. 4-2 in penalty kicks. This is Northlake’s first trip to the state finals in their school’s history.
Ben Franklin, (15-7-1) the number 5 seed has outscored playoff opponents 13-4. This season they have outscored opponents 47-47. To make it to this final game Ben Franklin defeated Glenmora 4-0, then Bolton 6-2, then University Lab 4-2 in penalty kicks, and finally Westminster 2-1. This will be Ben Franklin’s 4th trip to the finals only winning it 1 time in the school’s history.
The only other time these two teams met this season was in the St. Paul’s tournament in which Northlake won 6-0. Ben Franklin was missing players for this game and have only lost 2 games since that tournament. Northlake has not lost a game since that tournament.
This game will be played Friday night at 7 PM in Tad Gormley Stadium in New Orleans, LA.
Thoughts and predictions?

last time these two met in the St. Pauls invitational the score was 6-0 NCS. BF was missing Vanya and Tomlin(i think thats his name). Defense and keeper for BF looked suspect. I'm sure it will be a much closer game this time

i think it will be definetly much closer than the last meeting. I saw NCS still wins it tho but it will be a great game. Can't wait to drive down and watch NCS make their first appearence at the big game, hopefully taking it too!

NLC didn't impress spectators at EHS. BF seems to have played a better game to beat WCA. It's a very hard one to pick. My prediction is to go to overtime with a low score. Then, BF will win with Vanya's clutch goal as he scored in both QF and SF. 2-1 BF in OT.

This will be a tough one to call. Saw both teams play: Bf over uhs and nlc over ehs. I think the "median" talent is slightly better on nlc, but at least in those games, the best two players were clearly bf #'s 7 and 10. Not sure either team can overwhelm the other, so expect a close one. I'll guess Ben Franklin 2:1.

"Median talent" is the term I was looking for. While I felt the same way between BF and UHS (some people disagreed, including my own son), BF's #10 (Vanya) can and, I think, will make a difference. He will be an MVP.

Was there an unfortunate issue in the scheduling and organizing of this game.. refs, time, etc.? I heard that the LHSAA had to get involved.
Talraia... your view of the mechanics of the flow of a soccer game is at least consistantly imbalanced enough to generally discount. It seems Ben Franklin has never been overmatched, ever, even when losing 6-0 LOL, and no other team has ever played good soccer, all resorting to dirty ultra-physical play ... despite the rep of BF team. ;D Congratulations to the BF team... I'll publically admit this result surprised me.

I call it how I see it.
Many tend to pay attention when the ball is near the goal, or wait to see where it will end up. There is more to the game than that. It is not only dissectible, but predictable. I would be happy to sit beside you anytime and call things before they happen. That is not tough when a team actually play the game.
I have seen many games this season, played by many teams. I would be happy to dice up anyone else I am familiar with...or anyone you might have in mind...but then again, it seems only Ben Franklin and Northlake remain, so that would be somewhat tough at this point....perhaps my views are not so discountable.
Have you any credentials out side of your esteemed position?

Keep in mind that the post is about the game between Country Day and Catholic New Iberia. I'll stick by the winner of this game going to the final. As far as, "so what." Well, NLC would be half of potential obstacle to the championship. STM dealt with Newman quite easily, and Newman are the other half. Again, I simply think CD/CNI both have a mix that would make them the favorite in the remaining match ups...but there is always kick and hope. The winner of this game is no where to be found in the finals.

Sure thing...
I chose Country Day as winner because they are the more quality side, and they lost, so I was wrong.
I will say that the game turned as CD suffered injuries to both players who make up their engine in the middle, and that was a major blow...and a pass-back handled by the GK, can't say I saw that coming in my crystal ball either...but hey, can't see it all.
Finally, I do not hang my hat on Country Day. I do not think their style is all that great - just that they were the superior team in the bottom bracket. Fair enough play to Northlake. They got by, and I wish them luck in the final to surprise me again.

Exact field dimensions, I do not know.
Tad is not the widest field...I would guess about 65ish, tops. It does play a tad wider on account of the roll provided on the turf...like wind chill or heat index.
I would say 63-65, feels like 68-70
