I would have to agree with Playmaker1, TCH didn't have great players, but they were so well coached. The moved the ball in transition and the St. Louis defense failed to communicate and adapt. St. Louis could have won this game 2-0 if they would've just MOVED THE BALL instead of forcing it forward in the air. Chatters got the ball stolen almost every time she had it and rarely looked to pass after she DID effectively evade defenders. Just heartbreaking for a St. Louis team full of athletes who have played together since they were kids.

A well coached team, absolutely but STL could have won the game, of course they "could have" but they didn't and that had nothing to do with the Teurlings coaches, it had everything to do with the TCH players!! Give credit to these girls they are a very talented squad and I know for a fact one or two are indeed talking to D1 coaches about playing at the next level. NUFF SAID!

Goat -- thanks for calling this person out. It doesn't matter what this person's resume is. He could be David Beckham, and his commetns are still out of line.

goat...so you said, ""could have" but they didn't and that had nothing to do with the Teurlings coaches, it had everything to do with the TCH players"...You are basically saying that the WIN had nothing to do with the coaches. That's pretty brutal to the coaching staff. I think the players did a GREAT job and I'm not taking away from them at all. I'm just saying the coach knew how to stop STL and they did the job the coach asked them to do. And did you really just say NUFF SAID? That's hilarious.

playmaker1, I am still trying to figure out what your point was with your statement. It really doesn't matter if any players are going to play soccer after high school or not, they earned the right to play in the CHAMPIONSHIP game. Last I heard soccer is still a TEAM sport, I guess the better TEAM won.
Congratulation TCH girls. Good Luck against VANDY Bring it home!!

Its really disappointing that such a wonderful soccer match played by two class teams is being talked about individuals that are clueless about the sport. The bottom line is that TCH will be playing in New Orleans Friday night. And guess what; there are only two seniors on the squad, it is loaded with Juniors and Sophomores so we will be around for a very long time. As far as talent level - In MY opinion Teurlings top to bottom has fantastic talent they however play as a team so individuals do not necessarily stand out - it is very easy to spot talent on a team that only has one or two standout players.

In Lake Charles, in a quagmire, down two starters, 10 of 11 players played every minute of the game, two seniors on the squad versus a senior laden team with many subs, = VICTORY, HMMMMMM Great Coaching of Great Talent!!!

I think you might do well to go back and re-read my post. It started with, “A well coached team, absolutely”. I know firsthand how good coach Luscious is. You see my son played select and high school soccer for him. When I attend games where he is in attendance we sit together and talk about the game. Now on to your comments. You stated, “The moved the ball in transition and the St. Louis defense failed to communicate and adapt”. So WHO moved the ball coach Lou or the players from TCH? You also stated, “Chatters got the ball stolen almost every time she had it”, so WHO stole the ball coach Lou or the TCH players? Bottom line is you and Playmaker voiced your opinion, I just disagreed and stated why. I respect and have supported STL on the boy’s side of the board for years. For years I have closed many of my statements with NUff Said, glad you found it amusing because that is how it is meant. If you want to know a little more about me and my soccer resume, ask the boys coach at STL I know him well too! And Yes NUFF SAID!

Great players, great coaches- kinda need both to be a great team. Arguing about which is more important is like arguing about whether your right leg or left leg is more important when youre trying to run.
I'm sure STL has great talent and great coaches as well. Rooting for Teurlings to go all the way!

The game last night between Teurlings Catholic & St Louis Catholic was one for the ages. Both teams left it all on the field. They battled for 100 minutes, each other & the weather. It was a game between two schools that have much respect for each other. Any time you travel to play a team coached by Coach Oertling, Coach Duncan, Coach Toby & Coach Irv, you know that it will be a difficult game.
To the St Louis Senior Girls, congratulations on a great four years of soccer. You complete your time at St Louis with 2 State Championships and 2 Semi-final appearances. Outstanding ! We chased Jodi Chatters all night & when we did attack we were faced with trying to get by Hannah Oertling & her defensive team. Both are outstanding players. Hopefully they will both get the opportunity to play at the next level.
Many thanks to the St Louis Soccer Parents & Administration for hosting a nice event last night. Getting to play at the McNeese Soccer Complex was a treat. Both teams were well supported and the bleachers were full. Thanks again for the locker room accomodations for our TCH Lady Rebels after the game.
Good luck to the St Louis Boys Soccer team & Coach Oertling in their semi-final match on Monday vs the Alexandria Trojans.

The scary thing is Teurlings will be better next year! They only lost 2 girls and they have some young players that are really good.

I have held off on this post a couple of days thinking whether or not to post it but I think I will. shearminator16, your last post to me was rather childish in my opinion. All of my posts on this thread were my opinions about soccer and the TCH staff and players. At no time did I make fun of the two posters I disagreed with. At no time did I try and belittle them with childish remarks about their appearance on or at a soccer field. You however did. I wish you would have tried to defend your opinion instead of making personal attacks on me, I would have expected more from a 31 year old. I have been involved with soccer for almost as many years as you are old. As a coach, referee, board member, voting member of top ten in all divisions on the boy’s side, scout for coaches, and I have even help players going through tough times during a season, and yes also as a dad cheering his son and team on from the sidelines, but NEVER with high pulled up paints. I read your post on the boys side about St Louis, sorry they don’t always play the style you want them to but don’t worry they are well coached and the coach knows when to play direct and when to play possession. I’m done and once again NUFF SAID!

So I can't look for a guy with his pants up too high to find goat?! Dang. I thought I had him picked out.
Sorry, couldn't resist. I love reading his posts and he seems very knowledgeable.
