Unfortunately, North DeSoto had to pull out. Luckily, right before I had to add my JV to the Gold Group H... GLenmora coach called me back and accepted the open spot this morning. So Glenmora will just slide right into North DeSoto slot. God is good! Now hopefully he helps a bit with the rain... but it will be VERY COLD this weekend!

I certainly don't envy you tournament directors with the job of organizing such a huge undertaking. Great job juggling all of these teams. Can't wait for the weekend.

why are all these teams dropping out of the best tournament in the state? hannan played a game last night so they can't be waiting on football team? cant wait for this weekend. will need a lot of that great gumbo to go with the cold weather and state title contending soccer games Hannan is playing for Div-III state title which means they will not finish football until the weekend of Dec. 14. One problem is that there are now 9 different classes or divisions of "State Champion" in football. That means 18 different teams are still playing ... and 36 teams played this past weekend thus have not had a chance to integrate any of the soccer players who have been participating in football! This also makes early season results be disconnected from true team strength ... especially for teams such as Parkview Baptist, Catholic N. I., Episcopal BR, Country Day, etc. There may be a lesson here. Sooner or later someone will propose holding separate "select" and public school "championships" for everything from cross country to vollyball, baseball, and soccer. And it will probably pass.

Please don't forget menard is in every game! Lost 2-0 to Bolton and 2-1 to sulphur on a iffy pk so Bolton and menard will hold there own I think Bolton should be #1 in state but lack of keeper hurts them great defense and great attack

Continue to pray for weather! Looks like bad stuff, if any, will be done before tournament starts Friday. Could have some slight showers Friday evening... Saturday now looks good for most part. A couple different hours with some chance of rain, but Saturday evening is the only main concern with weather... Looks like we dodged a bullet this year. Won't be the usual great Copa Weather (with exception of 2010 snow year), but it should all be played without a hitch. Bring your warm clothes, rain jackets, tents, umbrellas if needed.... And eat lots of gumbo!! Its Copa Acadiana 2013 and this year appears to be one of the best lineups ever!

Any word on game status for tonight (Friday)? It is pretty wet, and more rain to come. Still plan on trying to get games in?

Since everyone is a weather man/woman... It has hardly rained at all. Very cold. Soccer weather. Why would anything be cancelled for anything other than lightening? This isn't baseball!
Now that its out of the way... Fields are good. And I was serious about it not raining a lot. The rain was worse in the Comeaux tournament a couple of weeks ago. The only thing this weather may effect is attendance gate.

After a couple of years of playing the "winter" sport of soccer even in Louisiana, you get accustomed to being prepared for the cold temps.
- many layers (i.e.: long johns) - gloves, scarves, hats that cover the ears, - warm socks - blankets - towels - coats designed for hunting or skiing are really great - hand and feet warmers (disposable or otherwise) - portable heaters - hot chocolate (and in this case some good gumbo I hear)

Chad always does a good job helping with the weather, except for the snow year...lol. We showed up for our game Friday night and we didn't know what all that white stuff was...lol. It was also freezing during the semi's the next night. I'll never forget that COLD! Good luck to all the teams.

Any chance someone might want to deliver some gumbo to the other side of Moore? Will be there for junior high games.

Glad to hear there has not been any rain. I am sure it's somewhat wet there though. My home is literally around the corner from Moore, and it was wet when I left this morning. There certainly has not been any heat to dry it up. Very familiar with La. High School Soccer. Always have plenty of layers, and will contribute to the attendance gate...........

Very unlucky goal against Episcopal. The wind took it in on a corner and it bounced off the top of the far post. Episcopal had most of the possession and opportunities but St michaels dropped to five in the back all second half. Late in the game clausen for episcopal scored from a corner and it was called back for a foul to the keeper. Controversial call. Very messy and cold game to watch.
