The classic battle of New Orleans's Catholic soccer powerhouses is set for the turf field at John Ryan Stadium. BM leads the season series 2-1, but the Jays won the most recent match. Who ya got?

Until Brother Matin actually wins this game have to go with Jesuit. Some nice players on both squads just going with the chalk.

I want BM to win but I have a feeling Da Jays will pull this one out. The Jays have been a torn in my side for over 20 years. Can't pull for them unless they are playing out of state. Respect the heck out of them but just can't pull for them. Good luck BM please kick their but#!!!!

FWIW, Jesuit was without their starting gk as well as their midfield star #28 Evan Kramer during that 3-1 loss vs. BrM @ John Ryan Stadium.
In 1st three rounds of playoffs, JHS has outscored opponents 17-0, BrM 9-1. If we throw out the 1st round games vs. the #31 & #30-ranked playoff teams, JHS has outscored opponents 6-0 & BrM 5-1...
And, as evidenced by me & by the BrM parents/fans' own admission, BrM hasn't been playing as strong as they did in earlier part of season (still pretty strong, though!); whereas JHS has been on the upward trend since #28 came back from injury.
Should be quite interesting, low-scoring affair...maybe 1-0 or 2-0.

I saw each play the last round again I think BR Cath was much better than Airline so hard to say but Jesuit looked much sharper. I saw the 3 to 1 game and BM looked a mile ahead of J at the beginning of the season. So lets see what a season of work has done for both teams. Looking forward to it.

My theory of inertia says Jays keep on keeping on.

Judging by this thread the Blue Jays are like the Yankees or Manchester United or Duke basketball. Everybody sure loves to root against them!
My prediction is Jesuit 2-1.

Okay gonna be in that number. That said I think Jesuit tears it up and wins 2 to 0. I have a feeling BM keeps that Monkey on their back. Good luck to BM would be nice to see them break through and win one.

It looks like you got just where you like to be... The half line! And the perfect spot to hear cheers and boos from both sides of parents! Haha

It looks like you got just where you like to be... The half line! And the perfect spot to hear cheers and boos from both sides of parents! Haha Yep! Amazingly gorgeous day today - 55F but nice & sunny! Kinda quiet right now as teams settling into their individual games... JHS #4 Mason gets fed nice thru ball but his shot is collected in by gk as he falls on ball. JHS off set piece on left side, JHS player receives ball right at top of box, but taken down by brM defense. JHS free kick just outside box at 18.5 yd line taken by JHS #28 hits brM wall & followup off deflection amounts to nada for jays. 0-0

BrM earns free kick on left side about 28yds out, taken by #2 & sent in right to JHS gk. see pic below: A bit later, JHS #15 takes a shot that was weak b/c didn't get good foot on it... Still 0-0 Attachments:
