Real promising for the schedules being out on time. LSU probably will release the schedules after the first week of play and then fine the teams for not playing the games.

The next self declared 'important date' LSA meets will be the first.

First of all- I would never ever want their job. It's thankless and I'm sure very challenging.
But- it seems like by now they could tweak the process a bit to be able to meet their deadlines. Have letters in earlier. Staggered season starting dates. Something to enable them to meet these dates. I don't know what the answer is.

Laffy, I agree that there are folks that take on a lot of work on a volunteer basis and I do appreciate this. Howevet..parents who manage teams are also volunteers and they face monetary fines if reschedule procedures are not followed with no allowance for being a few days late. That LSA does this while not meeting their own scheduled dates for schedule releases and the like is a tad bit hypcritical.

It is, but by the same token, if they would allow allowances one time, then they would have to allow it every time. And having over 1000 game and having 200 allowances would make it nearly impossible to keep straight, especially when each change trickles down to each club. I.E. The reason for the strict guideline on reschedules is that the Referee assignors were being thrown with so many games and last minute changes it was making it impossible for them to find/provide referees, therefore they made this strict guideline on the advisement of the clubs and assignors.

..and if we allow LSA to come out late once with schedules then...oh wait.....by the way..my run in with LSA on this issue dealt with a game for which no official dad been assigned. Additionally if LSA allowed more club control of the scheduling process perhaps the need for reschedule could be sharply reduced.

Most of the brackets were finalized at the comp meeting. There were a few questions that came up about some specific age groups in regards to the number of teams in C1. This was due to petitions, new teams etc etc. There was a question as to whether the comp committee has the ability to add more former c2 teams than the number of teams participating in PLC as is stated in policy. That is the primary hold up is finalizing these last few brackets. I believe it was the 15 boys and girls if I remember correctly. Not making excuses for anyone, just trying to provide some additional info. We met for 5 hours going over the brackets, the comp committee really does want to get the placement of teams as right as possible.

Has anyone seen if the brackets have come out yet? I looked on the LSA website but couldn't find anything and wasn't sure if I was looking in the correct place. I am guessing they will announce the brackets and league schedule at the same time???

Interesting to see that five teams in our age group didn't reform or register for league. Calcasieu, Mandeville Storm, Thibodeaux, Alexandria, and Houma. I think Houma and Calcasieu may have combined with older teams. We got two new teams. One of those is a younger age team that combined with our age group.
I think this is more due to our age than LCSL however.

I don't see Houma and Calcasieu combining, you are talking a 3+ hour difference between the clubs.

Could be wrong but I think she is talking about combining with older age groups in their own club.

Gotcha, that makes since now, I know Houma did combine the U13/14 Boys into a U14 team as they did not have enough to fully complete a U13 roster.

Yes- that's what I meant with older age teams. I know that's what happened with Houma but not sure about Calcasieu. We are u15.

I would be really interested to see the complete numbers by age group when we had Premier, D1, Rec, vs what we have today, with it being a few years into the LCSL program.
