I just noticed that the schedule thread has us playing Airline twice at the end of the season, that is not correct. With the crazy weather, the remainder of our schedule looks like this;
1/29 - District - Ruston @ West Monroe 1/31 - Non-District - Ruston @ Southwood 2/3 - Non-District - Airline @ Ruston
Thanks.

Does anyone knows if the final coaches poll for playoff pairings are generally in line with the power rating rankings or more in line with the weekly polls? I believe the pairings will be out Feb.5th?

Does anyone knows if the final coaches poll for playoff pairings are generally in line with the power rating rankings or more in line with the weekly polls? I believe the pairings will be out Feb.5th? Last year, for the most part, it came out like this for each division: The Top 10-12 or so in the Coaches Poll pretty much retained their spot in the playoff brackets, while all other playoff teams were generally seeded by Power Rankings. So if your team is in the Top 10 of your division you probably won't have to worry about moving around too much, but if your team is not in the Top 10, your seed will likely be based heavily on Power Ratings, which can produce very diverse results. Most coaches that vote are familiar with the Top 10-12 programs, but as familiarity wanes, the seedings are increasingly based on Power Ratings.

Updated Spreadsheet as of 1/31 at 2 pm published.
With only a few more days left in the season, it is very important that we get all game reported in so that power ratings (which coaches use as a helpful guide to seed this year), records and all results are accurate and reliable. Please help out if you can by reporting any missing scores you can find. Contact people you know who might know anything.
Thanks

I don't know how this happened or who entered the wins or losses but on December 12th it says airline lost to haughton 3-2 but airline actually beat haughton 3-2. It hurts our power ranks. Airline should be 14-8-1 instead of 13-9-1

I noticed in looking at District III-6 results that it's showing Episcopal BR with a 10-0 LOSS to Catholic PC. That sounds highly unlikely. Someone probably got that reversed, when entering the score.

Maybe one of there games has not been reported in. Please check and see which game is missing and report it in all our games are in there...just the record is typed out wrong on our power ranking The record isn't typed out; it is a formula. If you go to the schedule and results tab, and select just Ruston as the team name, it will show which games are included in that number. I just did that and there are 22 games listed with results. 1 game still to be played. So while you may have reported 23 games, only 22 are listed there. Please review and let us know which one is missing.

That's on our missing list.

Does anyone knows if the final coaches poll for playoff pairings are generally in line with the power rating rankings or more in line with the weekly polls? I believe the pairings will be out Feb.5th? Last year for D-III the weekly coaches poll was consistent throughout the year and generally regarded as excellent. But the mythical P.R. had significant anomolies ... several teams regarded as being 8th-12th in the weekly polls were power rated about 3rd-5th, with other oddities further down the rankings as well. The D-III seeding was subsequently highly controversial as those "PR teams" were bumped way up in the seeding poll. All those teams went down to defeat before the Q-finals proving the disconnect of the PRs, but the brackets were thoroughly compromised for home and away, and several teams throughout the ranking were disadvantaged, etc... Newman for instance. Unfortunately the same scenerio is set to be repeated this year in D-III. Again the mythical PRs have significant divergenence from the weekly polls. If the coaches seed off the mythical PRs, they will again shaft several teams and significantly alter the brackets ... and will be basing their vote on a PR system that is not in effect this year! Yet even next year's rules are not strictly followed because the 15 game rule is not enforced. Good teams such as Runnels and St. Thomas Aquinas are not the only ones to apparently not play 15 games. I believe hiding the mythical PRs before the seeding vote will do the process a favor by forcing the seeding coaches to do their homework. It is unfortunate that a system that doesn't even apply to this year's rules could be used to penalize teams that have earned their seedings under this year's rules ... and I'm not talking about my team... I don't really care where we are seeded.

It's definitely an out-of-state game. We'll report whatever is shared, but we don't go out of our way to track down anything that LHSAA won't count anyway.
