A coefficients would and could work. But how would you choose who qualified? You can say that the 6 finalists get automatic bids and then have the next 6 with the highest PR.
They way I presented seem the easier way. And I would expect a coach would know what sort of team they have returning and if they felt it wouldn't be to their benefit then they could decline.

I see what you're saying. The simplest way is to have the top 4 from each division.
The main difference is that rosters change (or can) drastically due to graduation.

And again, if I'm coaching a senior heavy team and we snuck into the semis and know that I have nothing returning then you better believe i'm going to respectfully decline and avoid the embarrassment. But for teams like St. Thomas More and Ben Franklin who have qualified and are returning a good bit of their top players then this tournament is something I'd expect them to participate in.
I can tell you right now I don't expect Lusher or Beau Chene to participate next year. No offense to those programs, but they are riding very high on Senior leadership. The two next best teams in line for those spots are Brother Martin and Catholic BR.
I'm not forcing any team to participate. I'm sure some of the top teams will decline. But I think we can get a good amount of teams to participate that will bring some prestige to this format.
Maybe i'm just a dreamer, but i know i'm not the only one

Here is how the tournament will look next season. The results of the finals will have no effect on the seeding. I've run multiple scenarios and this his pretty much set in stone. 1-4 seeds
St. Paul's
Acadiana
Northlake Christian
Jesuit | 5-8 seeds
St. Louis
Grace King
Beau Chene
Vandebilt | 9-12 seeds
St. Thomas More
Newman
Lusher Charter
Ben Franklin |
Just a simulated random draw would be something like this. Group A | Group B | Group C | Group D | St. Paul's | Acadiana | Northlake | Jesuit | Beau Chene | St. Louis | Grace King | Vandebilt | Newman | St. Thomas More | Ben Franklin | Lusher |
November 24th (Monday)Beau Chene @ St. Paul's St. Louis @ Acadiana Grace King @ Northlake Vandebilt @ Jesuit December 1st (Monday)Newman @ Beau Chene St. Thomas More @ St. Louis Ben Franklin @ Grace King Lusher @ Vandebilt December 8th (Monday)St. Paul's @ Newman Acadiana @ St. Thomas More Northlake @ Ben Franklin Jesuit @ Lusher December 13th (Saturday)St. Paul's @ Beau Chene St. Louis @ St. Thomas More Northlake @ Grace King Vandebilt @ Lusher December 18th (Thursday)Newman @ St. Paul's Acadiana @ St. Louis Ben Franklin @ Northlake Jesuit @ Vandebilt December 22nd (Monday)Beau Chene @ Newman St. Thomas More @ Acadiana Grace King @ Ben Franklin Lusher @ Jesuit Finals (One weekend TBD)Friday night both semis Saturday afternoon 3rd place game followed by final. This isn't a mandatory tournament so teams will have the right to decline in participating. In the event teams do decline the these are the top 15 teams that will be asked to take their place, in order. If any teams are used to take another's place the seeding will be adjusted accordingly. Brother Martin Bolton Catholic BR Lafayette Captain Shreve Lakeshore Mandeville Sulphur St. Amant Baton Rouge Nortshore University Menard Alexandria Destrehan

Looks like this Champions League is turning out to be a brilliant idea! If they decide to split public / private playoffs in every sport, this will give a true determination of how teams rank against one another (private / public).

Are these the actual dates a games? I am working on my schedule No this is just an example of what it would look like if all of these teams were to commit. I will give all teams until the end of the week to respond. Then I will fill slots and then have schedule up ASAP.

Also, due to Vandebilt not having a coach I resigned them from the competition. Brother Martin is the next team in line.

Lojic, did Bayern Munich confirm yet? They're waiting to see if the competition is there. Me and Pep had a good talk though.

Due to the lack of responses from coaches and other variables this idea will be scratched for this upcoming season. Hopefully something like this can find it's way into the high school season.
Sorry for any inconveniences with scheduling.
