FHS 2 Caddo 0 Horrible no call by ref leading to goal off counter. #26 body rams caddo #4 and no call? Missing calls for both teams.

Congratulations, Bulldogs! Way to pull out a hard-earned win against a very good and skilled Caddo Magnet team. It was fun to watch in the sleet.

Congrats to the Bulldogs, a much better skilled & sound tecnically team with chemistry. I will tell you like it is. Magnet seems flat for a playoff contest, the kickass passionate mentality is just not there except for a few. Posession just doesn't work for a team lacking technicals vs sound opponents . Too many balls lost going out of bound needlessly, limits the number of chances created. 3 shots in the game by Magnet (Nhan 1). More balls should have been sent on direct rather methodically through posession, especially when trailing. Disappointing season for Magnet to go out 1st round.

We didn't lose because of that, futbolmaniac. No offense to FHS, but you're giving them too much credit. Neither team deserved to win that game, Magnet just deserved to lose more. Magnet's style of play that you're trashing is one of the only consistently good things about the team. Unfortunately, that's only due to having one of the best coaches around (not just in Shreveport). The rest has to come from the players. I agree that very few on the team had the passion needed, and that's the biggest problem IMO. Other than that, today I saw an unorganized team who gifted goals to the other team. Not to take anything away from FHS, but we lost it, they didn't win it.

Not trashing the style of play, coach is one of the best. It is very effective IF all 11 players are technically sound enough to possess and execute. If not, it breaks down. Clearly indicative of the final score. It is what it is. Good luck to Magnet next year.

Clearly indicative of the final score. It is what it is. Good luck to Magnet next year. I guess I should have said it clearer, so my bad, but 9 or 10 if not all 11 players ARE technically sound enough to do it. It's either the soccer IQ that's lacking or some players on the field just don't want the ball. I think it's a bit of both.

Laspectator, thanks for providing the updates. My hands were too frozen to relay much information -- took the better part of the 5-hour drive home for them to thaw out . . .

FHS 2 Caddo 0 Horrible no call by ref leading to goal off counter. #26 body rams caddo #4 and no call? Missing calls for both teams. Explanation I received this morning was that the ref played advantage as Caddo Magnet retained the ball. After a couple of quick passes, Fontainebleau then got possession, countered, and scored. #26 was booked for the foul on a delayed basis after the goal was scored.

That is correct. #26 obviously fouled #4 near the sideline ..no call. Magnet players hesitated (waiting on the whistle) but play continued Magnet connect like 2 passes & lost the ball- Magnet caught off guard FHS countered and scored. Mistake on ref's part, play should have been stopped. Mistake on Magnet also ...always play till you here the whistle.

That doesn't sound like a mistake on the referee's part, he saw that the player was continuing with the ball and therefore correctly gave an advantage call. The referee is focused on the immediate play where the foul occurred and saw that the player fouled maintained possession and was able to continue play forward that was advantageous to himself. The fact that 2 passes got off after the foul only reinforces that this was a correct call.
