Looking at the links sent, it seems that Grace King gets a huge amount of support from the local Jefferson Parish Latino community. Can anyone comment on that?

Well, as you know there are Latino players on the team. So it is a mixture of family and friends from other local public schools that come to show support. I saw people from Bonnabel & Hanyes, but I'm sure there was more schools there.

I think both of those team pictures would get the Boomer seal of approval.

I know Grace King has a pretty active alumni facebook page. Hopefully someone posts on that page to get some Grace King fans out to the game. St. Paul's will likely bring 1500 or more to the game. This game is a great opportunity to bring the high school game to the Hispanic population of New Orleans.

They get all the support from the Latino community in Jefferson Parish. I am Latino, and my father absolutely loves the Grace King team, he says it's reminds him of the soccer that is played back in Honduras, which is where many of the GK players are from. Nestor Peralta's father used to play for Olimpia back in Honduras, so Nestor Jr is well known around the Latino community. If you came to the game, you can see that Latinos are a lively bunch, bringing firecrackers and drums to the game.

As for the game itself, I'm excited to see St Paul's and Grace King play each other. I'm happy that St Paul's will get another shot at the title, I thought they were unlucky losing to Jesuit last year. I don't know my prediction yet, but I know it will be a fantastic match.

Plus, the Irish Fro counts as at least 3 people when you take into account his witticisms and of course the afro itself. In all seriousness, this could be one of the most attended championship matches ever, if not record-breaking. Two great teams playing for it all on Friday night during Mardi Gras season... doesn't get any better than that.

Grace King has had an incredible season and deserves to be here, however I see St. Pauls winning 3-1. It's just their time finally.

Well, Grace King has already knocked off the #1 seed, so there's no reason they can't knock off #2. But it'll be tough. I saw St. Paul's in their tourney when they whipped Beau Chene 5-0. Grace King reminds me a bit of the Ben Franklin girls' team in that they have a couple of fantastic players, while the rest of the team probably isn't quite as strong as the other top-ranked teams. I think St. Paul's will probably get a goal or two off set pieces. They're very good on long throws, and Tad Gormley is narrow enough for throw-ins to be a factor. I also think Nestor Peralta will find a way to get the ball in the back of the net for the Irish. But ultimately, I think St. Paul's has too much depth and skill for GK to match. My prediction is that St. Paul's wins by a goal, maybe 3-2 or so.

After watching the St Paul's, Jesuit game, I have to go SPS 3-0. They are just simply clicking on all cylinders. I believe they played early in the season but not sure what the score was. I think St Paul's won. Should be a great game with an amazing fan turn out.
