Walker High School will be hosting the 3rd annual kick off classic mon-sat nov 17-22. This year we will have two fields(within 1 mile of each other) so we are excited about hosting more teams. There will be a girls and boys division and a jv division. There is no entry fee. Each varsity team is guaranteed three games and jv teams are guaranteed two games. If you wish to participate we are asking that you commit to two days during the tourney that we can schedule your teams to play. Once again the teams who travel from a distance will play on fri and sat. I am wanting to confirm all teams by may 30 so that i can have the schedule complete and in your hands by sep 15. if you are interested and you want to play please contact me here or jml-rvp50@hotmail.com or at 225 268 9783 Coach Mike Lockhart Walker High School Girls Coach

First game: 11/21
Episcopal BR 1 Sulphur 1
Episcopal had a good showing -- had quite a few key players out with injury. Sulphur athletic but lacked in technical ability in areas. Episcopal GK made some impressive stops definitely something to be reckoned with.

Denham Springs 3 Ponchatoula 0
DS has incredible speed and accuracy. The P keep should be commended for an excellent game she keep them in until the very end...they wore her down.
Good game to watch

I only caught parts of each half but Episcopal dominated posession and with shots on goal....sorry nothing more concrete. I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you on this one SoccerFan. From where I was sitting. Possession was equal if not tipped to Sulphurs favor. Most of the game was played with E on defense. As far as shots, Sulphur also had more, E only had one potentially dangerous shot -the one they made, Sulphurs Goalie easily scooped up the rest without much effort.

Really good soccer at the Walker tournament. Pleasantly surprised. Denham Springs is unbelievable compared to last year. Whatever the coach is doing, keep it up.

Tormom like I said I only saw parts so you may be correct. I did see the second half of Episcopal BR vs St Michael....no score either team but posession was in E favor. I'm interested to see what happens when their full roster is back. Marvin Smith can do excellent things...they need to be watched for sure.

To all of the teams coaches and players who participated in our tourney this past week, we hope you had a great experience. We want to continue to grow our tournament. We feel that there was some good quality soccer. If there is anything we can do to make the tournament better, we would love to hear from you. Again thank you and best to you on the rest of your season.

It was a great tournament I thought. Well run. Ball retrievers especially at the football field would be nice. Lots of time wasted with players having to chase balls a long ways.
