Will be held at Baton Rouge HS, 6pm. Monday March 10th. Refreshments and drinks will be provided.
Was some prior confusion as to the location, definitely set now at BRHS.

Can we get a posting of the BR All Metro teams?? A quick search shows The Advocated ran the information at the end of JUNE in 2013!

Advocate advises that it desires to be the first to publish. Robin is collecting stats for all metro players.

SJA Dad, thanks for the information. BTW the boys side posted their All Metro today on the board??? Hhmmm ... all I can say is that I am relaying info from Robin Fambrough, who handles all prep sports for The Advocate -- and who advised when I asked her if I could post the girls all metro, said that the paper's preference is to be the first to publish. I kind of like that stance because it [hopefully] puts the onus on them to do precisely that.

When there was talk of an All-Metro meeting, it sounded like a Coaches meeting. If that's the case, I'm not sure why the Advocate has any say. If I'm reading it wrong & it's their info, then it's their call. In contrast in New Orleans, the Times-Pic releases 2 awards - both of which are managed by them. Once they publish it, then the schools/players/coaches find out about it (and I don't think before). 1) All-Metro is determined by their Sportswriters. 2) Fan-Favorite is determined by the fans. And at this point, both have been published. I did actually even see that they (the Times-Pic) named a Baton Rouge area Player of the Year, but not a full team (which was published March 14).

I don't understand the tie to The Advocate either. If it is just out of courtesy, then 2 weeks after the decision was made by coaches seems like enough time. These players deserve to be recognized in their schools close to the time of their season. Coaches should just post the team and let the Advocate catch up whenever it gets around to it.

I certainly have no objection to the publishing of the list especially considering who the MVP is. For that reason, I would very much like to see the Advocate publish. That is why I contacted the paper and have been pushing them to do so. i agree that the players are deserving of their recognition. I have the list as do I suspect a few of the coaches. I have no problem if one of them publishes. I just promised Robin that I would not.
