How has this escaped the attention of everyone? Surely we can honor and write about A team from Lafayette area even if its US Club and not USYSA? This is a HUGE thing for LA soccer... We have a team in a national title game. They are playing the NY team that beat them 1-0 in group stage. Good luck to all of these great players ad bring home our states first national title! Here is hoping that a certain forward can score in his last game before college ball and hoist up a national trophy! www.nationalpremierleagues.com/schedules/2014/66921254.html

No Chad, it didn't escape everyone's attention. On the road & not on LA Prep every day. In fact, I texted 2 dads right before the World Cup final wishing their sons well the next day. Very excited about their performance.
To fill in a few details, 8 teams competed in the event. Fury competed by winning the GSPL. They went 1-1-1 in Bracket with the following results: * Thursday - Lost 0-1 to Manhattan Paris St. Germain 95 (NY) - the eventual National Champion * Friday - Won 2-0 over NMRUSH U18 (TX) * Saturday - Tied 1-1 with Dynamos Soccer Club Boys U18 (TX)
Manhattan took 1st in their bracket with 9 points & Fury took 2nd with 4 points. In the semi-final, Fury played the 1st place team from other bracket (Soccer Association of Columbia U17/U18 - MD) and beat them 3-1 to set up rematch against NY team.
Teams got a day off before playing the final (5th game in 6 days). Game was tied 0-0 at half, before Manhattan was able to put in 3 goals in the 2nd half. It was a great showing by a LA team. Congrats!

A special and very talented group for sure. Congratulations to those young men, their families, and CSC. Blessings to all of them as they move forward into the next phase of their lives, which for a good number of them includes soccer at the next level.
