(New Orleans, LA) – Jose Ferrand and his girls set the bar pretty high this season winning their second consecutive Division II state title and continuing their impressive 40-game win streak. Which has surpassed the previous record of 29 set by Jesuit from 2008-2010. “The addition of five girls who came in as freshmen two years ago and also the addition of Katrina Seal two years ago, our goalie who transferred from Wisconsin, played a major part in this extraordinary run.” said coach Ferrand. The Lady Falcons last lost in February of 2012 against St. Louis, 3-1, in a Division II quarterfinal contest.
In honor of coach Ferrand’s astounding feat he has been recognized by the Greater New Orleans Sports Hall of Fame and will be awarded the 2013-2014 Outstanding Girls’ Prep Coach award, which was instituted in 2013. “It has taken a team effort from the administration, my assistant coaches, parents and the rest of the team to win consecutive state championships.” said coach Ferrand
