Is anybody still playing in this thing?

I wonder what's going to happen with it. Gary Buete at BRSC was the head of the league, but with his departure I don't know who will be the big backer locally.

The League needs an overhaul to be meaningful. Get rid of all the small clubs and replace them with Clubs that can field regional level teams:
Huntsville FC Vestavia Hills Memphis area club FC Dallas of FL Dallas Texans of FL (not sure if they are still in or not)
The League is basically operating as a collective of all the teams you used to play friendlies for free against. It's basically like the Jackson Tournament every weekend. Needs to update with quality teams.

In my son's age group they already play Vestavia and Lobos Rush (Memphis) in RPL, so it wouldn't make any sense to play them in GSPL as well. While our club may still be participating in GSPL this year, his team will not -- Mandeville, LA Fire Red, and CSC Fury are all playing RPL, so that would just be another league with common opponents (and league fees).

Just hope our club team aren't involved again in GSPL. It is just a complete waste of time and MONEY!! When are the clubs going to begin to understand that. Listen to your consumer and coaching staff. I just don't want to do GSPL on top of LCSL, Tournaments and then State Cup. It's too much for everyone.

To me for it to be meaningful, it should be top teams from state (maybe the ones not playing RPL) regardless of club affiliation. These may typically be the teams involved but not always.
I think there should be some way to qualify rather than we are the team from our age group that our club chose to enter.

The GSPL is just a complete waste of everyone's time and money! So glad I'm not coaching in it this year.

If there is too much duplication in teams and the level of play, then what's the point? It sounds like it's just another check to write and more miles on the car.

The only schedules or information shown on the GSPL website for this season are for U13 teams. Is this all that the league is going to do this year? If so, then what's the point?
