Just a question and I mean no offense but just curious. If rankings and everything is being done thru max preps why do we need to enter weekly scores on this site? The boys side is pulling rankings from somewhere and updated it to their threads but we don't seem to have that info. Does that all go back to the spreadsheet or is their info coming from LHSAA or maxpreps? I'm just trying to make sure I get all the right info to the correct places.

Stats are available through MaxPrep site, but loJic has also linked them to LaPrepSoccer.net. If you go to the Girls pull down and select Stats you can see all that have been entered at MaxPreps. So there is no need to keep up with that in both locations.

Currently, there are less than 5% of the schools that have entered a roster, and without rosters there are no individual stats. I do like the look of the stats section, and I think the future could be great once all of the teams tart using the site. What we see now is just game scores and records, along with the goals and assists from a very small number of players tied to the handful of teams that have entered rosters and tracked the players that have scored, gotten assists, or keepers with clean sheets. I guess that by next year, things will be better, but I can't imagine accurate State statistics with the current user base. I have high hopes for the site though! Very nice graphical design and layout.

It'll take each school assigning a statistician or the coach going in and entering the data. Once the coach give access their designee can report all scores, stats, enter schedules, and rosters. The layout and data entry is very easy to use. It's really a matter of schools setting someone up to do the entry. Football and basketball seem to be using this, so most schools are set up, they just need a soccer contact. Anyone can report scores, submit rosters, or schedules as well. They just take a little time for Max Preps staff to update.

Unfortunately it not only takes a school assigning someone to enter the data but that person has to keep it up to date. I am not seeing that being done on the girls side. Individual stats are nice but having schedules and scores is something we should be able to get and that was not always done 100% so it seems to me that it will be less likely to be on Max Preps.
Barnacle has sent me the spreadsheet from last year and I will try to get it updated with schedules and scores asap.

It's a different format than we've used on this site, but all of the data should be there. Not every school will even report on LA Prep, but they are required to report to LHSAA. Here's the link. You need at least 1 search criteria. You can put in a date (such as yesterday) to see most recent games. If you want a broader view, drop in the desired division (and no date). Once you have 1 (or more) criteria, click on search. You'll get a report with info similar to what we did on Google Docs last year. Here's the direct link: Schedules & Scores
OR you can access it from the LHSAA Girls Soccer Page right below the dates for the State Championships this year.

Keep in mind that it is way too early for conclusions to be drawn yet. I say give it until first week of January and it will all start to settle in.

Growing pains are expected. Trust me when I say that what P_malinich and barnacle did the last few years was a job in itself. It is a very very very time consuming task.
What needs to happen is everyone get involved with their programs. Maxpreps is beyond easy to use. No reason for some of these well known programs to not have some parent/student manager/ass coach/whomever to be updating us with their teams progress. Especially when it's as easy as clicking two or three buttons in a matter of under 5 minutes.

While I believe that to be true as well, parents are not going to get access to most school's Max Prep account because it gives them access to all sports and the school will not do that. Unfortunately High School soccer and especially Girls' High School soccer is not that high on the list so the school's assigned person does not put much effort into keeping it up.

can you tell me how to enter stats if the school does not give permission or access to their account? I know scores can be submitted by anyone as can rosters and schedules. Individual stats I'm not sure on.

Can't submit individual stats without an administrative code from the school. Submitted a roster over three weeks ago and it hasn't made it to the website yet. So it looks like stats will only be available for the five or six schools who have someone with the time and support to make it happen. "Growing pains" doesn't even begin to describe it. Sad to see.

From the GIRLS power rankings on MaxPreps: Being a Brother Martin Alumnus, I always suspected this about Jesuit -- Or maybe there is something wrong with MaxPreps
