Can anybody provide updates for the St Paul's - Grace King game? A rematch of last year's Division I final on opening night makes a great headline. With St Paul's beating Catholic BR 3-0, and Grace King beating Brother Martin 3-0, it seems as if both teams are ready to go.

St Pauls 1 Grace King 0
Good game played by both teams. They looked good and ready for the season. St. Pauls goal came of a set play. King defense couldnt clear the ball after many tries st paul players just tapped in for the score. In the last minute of the game King had a chance to tie, but the player got knocked out by two defenders and a clear pk was not called.

I am pretty sure "knocked out" is hyperbole, here. From my angle, he never lost consciousness. You can tell this, by his "strongly worded" appeals after the officials waved away the claims for a penalty. I wish this was on video, as I believe it meets the text book examples of "embelishment": poor first touch, going down under minimal contact, looking to the official before hitting the ground, very loud appeal, other players on your team looking embarrassed, etc....
It would be a shame if this incident were to spoil an otherwise very good performance from both teams. Highly entertaining on a very cold night. Good luck to both teams

the game is on video, via St Paul's boosters..... i happened to get a great look at the penalty no-call. it appeared the going to ground with such.... dramatic quality, did influence the AR. a penalty probably should have been given, given the amount of contact, and the removal of a scoring opportunity that resulted. however, in all fairness the same AR took away a great goal scored on a call that apparently is only recognized at the LHS level. st paul's striker scored a gorgeous goal on a throw in, jumping up (exploding in the air actually) and tapping it in with his boot. the AR told him his boot was too high, and caused the keeper to stop his run on the ball (inside the six yard box no less, what the heck is the keeper doing not attacking that ball) b/c his boot was near the keepers chest. really??? what the heck is that!
anyway the 1-0 score didn't reflect the goal taken away, or the 65-70% possession, or two balls banged off the post by St Paul's. Until the last 5 minutes the match didn't look or feel that close at all.
just my bird's eye view :-)

Unfortunately, I am out of town until next week and then headed to Jacksonville on Turkey Day. Will try to download footage at earliest convenience and "if possible" will post the play in question.

Some additional game notes - our MVP Eric Guin is still out with an injury and a significant number of Juniors were out due a Church obligation. Not a full squad for St Paul's.

Looks like King does not have a striker this season could really hurt them. Also one player I noticed missing #17 I am sure that he played left back for their jv he was a sophomore last year from what I have heard, was expecting to see him playing. I have seen him play in the champions league at tad glormy and islano really good player wonder why he is not playing ?

Then it must be a different school he plays for, I just remember watching him play vs Jesuit and it seemed like King's uniform could be a mix up?
