Great job Vandy! That would'be been worth watching! Not if you were there. While waiting for the next game to begin, I watched the last 20 min. of the second half and it was not pretty. Vandy has some very talented players for sure, but had all but one player defending in their final third. Not sure about the first half being any different. The ball rarely seemed to make it out of the Vandy final third. When it did it was almost immediately played back into the final third. The Vandy keeper made a few really good saves, but nine defenders inside the eighteen yard box is tough for any team to get the ball through. I would bet St. Paul's had almost 30 shots and 7 corners while I was watching. Not all shots were on goal and many deflected by defenders on their way to the goal. Like I said, not pretty to watch , but impressive to not concede a goal under such pressure. It seems like Vandebilt play the same way when they played Grace King... its not ugly but it really makes you desperate if you are other team. You have to be really discipline and have a good goalie to pull that off. And thats not something that you learn in a day. As you can see they did play well on other games. And at the end of the day, after total domination, good combination plays, balls hitting the post, goalie saves the game ended 0-0. Again congratulation Vandebilt, any team should be happy with a result like that.

High scoring games and good teams.....that's really good for teams and fan that came to watch. Its all about them goals... I wouldn't consider 8-0 a good game. I never said good games. I said good teams and high scoring games.

Vandy were up 1-0 against GK until the ref cheated them out of the win with a penalty that never was in the 80th minute. GK were lucky to get anything out of that game.

On the second half Vandebilt crossed the half only once and they score of a counter. And from my view was a clearly a pk. Of course you will say it wasn't a pk. And to be honest they were other pks that the ref didn't call in kings favor. Especially in the first half. That game could of been 5-1 easy on kings favor. Just how the jv and 9th grade games went.

Just a word of advice for this tournament, it may be worth ensuring refs know how long games are meant to be. Playing 35 minute halves one game then 30 the next is pretty poor on their behalf No excuse for this...was covered in the email of assignments from the assignment secretary, was on printed schedules in the referee locker rooms...
