The state final is currently set for Tad Gormley, but is this the best venue? Tad Gormley has the worst turf and the stands are so far away from the field. Why aren't the finals at Pan Am or even Joe Yenni? Joe Yenni has nice turf and the facilities are better than Tad Gormley, the stands are also right on top of the field which would create a great atmosphere.
Opinons???

Pan American is not big enough for the Div I finals, which has seen crowds around 6,000. How big is Joe Yenni?

I believe it holds about 8,000. It's definitely bigger than Pan Am

Joe Yenni is my favorite venue in the city, that would be a good place to hold it. Parking would be a nightmare though

During football season, they usually use the baseball/softball outfield as parking during big games, but they probably wouldn't allow it during baseball season.

Hasn't Joe yenni held large football games before? Where do people usually park? I know there is a large parking lot at Rouses across the street.

They could set up a couple buses and have people park at Zephyr field. There is plenty of parking there and it would be easy to bring people over.

The ideal location would be Tulanes New stadium but I believe its not wide enough?

I think there is only 1 solution here...move them back to Shreveport. Our guy up here that used the push broom to hold the football goal post up during the finals has been out of work for years. Independence Stadium has a nice concrete wall 5 ft from the field...it's perfect really.

UL accomodates every aspect of what you are looking for in a finals venue. Parking is more than ample, hotel within walking distance, food and entertainment.....I would LOVE to see at least a trial run on that facility! The field itself is the best natural surface quite possibly in the entire state! It's pristine! To the powers that be....make it happen! ?
