I think that Leesville can hold 5,000.

As long as it doesn't end up in Texas...oops I mean Shreveport again I'll be happy.
Just say no to Texas. Dang it, I mean Shreveport.
Just say no to Shreveport.

I submit Grand Isle
But no, really, what's that memorial stadium in BR just past the capital building? I see it from the road all the time

St. Michael used to play our home football games there. Personally don't like the stadium. Don't think there would be nearly enough room for a decent-sized soccer field (it barely fits a football field), much less over 5K spectators.
As much as I would love being able to walk to the state championships from my dorm, Olympia wouldn't work.

There's no way UL holds 5000 folks. If Joe Yenni is only 8500, UL is 2000 at the very most Google it. The University soccer site says 5000.

It might. I'm spatially challenged anyway.
I was thinking it would hold 2500 max but will defer to the university.

Take it back. If you were talking about the BREC Memorial Stadium that could potentially be a decent venue. I was wrong about Olympia's capacity as well, but I still think the field would be too small for soccer.

If I took a guess, half mile to a mile north of the capital on 110. Heading north, left hand side.

Checking web sites and google earth, BREC Stadium in Baton Rouge seats 21,000. From measuring the air photo, it looks like it is easily possible to fit a 70-yd wide field with room for team benches and corner kicks. I don't know anything about this stadium, neighborhood, condition, field surface, etc.
By the way, I don't know why people are worried about parking at Joe Yenni. That stadium has been filled up a lot of times through the years and no one has raised a stink about parking that I've heard.

At the end of the day, this is all for the kids! If that's the case, then realize that many more kids would be inconvenienced and forced to miss classes if the games were moved from New Orleans. For both boys and girls soccer, most of the best teams are from the New Orleans area. You say that performance on the field shouldn't matter, but I think it should certainly be a factor. The volleyball playoffs are in Kenner every year. Should we put them in the northern part of the state when there are barely any volleyball teams up there? Financially it just doesn't make sense to put the soccer championships anywhere else. I'm sympathetic to the plight of players and fans who have to travel, but I think it's pretty clearly in the best interests of the majority to keep the championships in the New Orleans area. As for the original question, I think Pan Am is the best spot, but I realize that it could be a little too small for the DI title games, depending on which teams make it. I think Yenni would be great, but parking is a huge issue. Gormley's huge track makes it much less spectator friendly than the other two. So you're pretty much saying 2 months ahead of time that there will be majority N.O. Teams in the state finals? ULL's field meets all the requirements and is In the perfect location. This is the finals we are talking about and no matter where it is there will be a great turn out. But I'm pretty sure the finals is on a Saturday so we don't have to worry about missing school, that is not a factor.

"ULL's field meets all the requirements and is In the perfect location."
If you live in Lafayette, or points west.
"This is the finals we are talking about and no matter where it is there will be a great turn out."
I am sorry, but this is utter bunkum, poppycock and balderdash. When the finals were in Shreveport, there were maybe a couple of hundred hardy folks would make the drive. Having been there for 2 finals, there were more birds in the stands than people.
"But I'm pretty sure the finals is on a Saturday so we don't have to worry about missing school, that is not a factor."
According to LHSAA website, the finals are: 02.26.2015 - 02.28.2015. Soccer State Championships. I am pretty sure all three days are not a Saturday. 20 seconds to look this up on The Google. Players, and fans from the schools would have to miss school on the Thursday or Friday.

Yep, but I still ain't buying it "ain't buying it" ha yea the University lies on their official site! Have you ever been there? Capacity figures can vary wildly in accuracy depending on what extra parts of the stadium they factor into consideration. Having been to UL's park, I would say it "comfortably fits" about 4K, but it could maybe reach 5K if they filled all the extra space. That would be sufficient for the D-III and D-II finals for sure.
Having been there at least a dozen times, I don't buy for a second that Olympia seats anywhere close to 9K. The only way they could manage that is if they sat 4,500 people and convinced them to let someone sit on their shoulders. It could barely fit a Catholic vs. St. Michael football game a few years ago, which drew about 4K. I would guess they could squeeze about 6K in there at the most. Olympia wouldn't be a suitable venue for the soccer state finals anyways.
