After some discussions with proper LHSAA authorities, it appears that the error of not receiving our opponents ties for the strength of schedule part of the formula, this issue will be fixed by the end of the holidays. There was some confusion on their part about a couple of issues but that has now been cleared up. Thanks to Coach Jason Oeerlting for helping the LHSSCA on their matter and also thanks to LHSAA assistant director Gary Duhe for understanding and realizing the error and importance of fixing this. We need to understand that this is new and while it is not a good thing when we realize our score is not as high as it should be... It is a great thing that we all, worked together to find the problem and then use the proper channels to address it with the LHSAA and fix the problem together. Hopefully this issue is over with now... The timeline was said to be a couple of weeks to fix it so I do not know If it means we won't have ratings for a week or 2 while it's been fixed or not. When we know more, I will share it with you. It is always a good thing to have a great relationship with the LHSAA, especially those in charge of or working with the soccer side of things. Gary Duhe has done an excellent job in his first year plus and I enjoy being able to contact him for issues that affect us through my position with the LHSSCA and he has always been kind, courteous and understanding of everything despite not being a soccer man as his background is basketball, where he was hugely successful in high school. I remember him being a coach at the Dale Brown LSU basketball camps I went to as a teen. So thanks to all of you for patience and remember, let's always give the benefit of the doubt first and let the problem work through channels and then get fixed. If that doesn't woek, then we can take action further... But usually, when it is handled this way, it works. Thanks to Paul, Pokle, and all of the coaches who noticed the error and reported it and helped us find the issue.

So while your number is understated, so are others. Your team isn't getting the shaft. There will probably be some movement when fixed, but it shouldn't greatly affect any one team more than others. Your relative strength is still a good indicator.

I sent an email earlier to Gary Duhe and he responded back they were working on it. Then I received this response from Doug Catanzaro: "Coach, thanks for the input. Ties are being calculated. You get 2.5 points for a tie and 75% of your opponents wins."What about the percentage of their “TIES”? Shouldn’t that be calculated in as well? I thought that's where the discrepancy was or did I misunderstand that part (can't find the original thread on the topic)

This is what they are not doing. So if you okay a team 3-4-4 and win... They are giving you (100% of 3 instead of 5)... Huge difference on some teams, especially those who play teams that have a good amount of draws already. As much as .6-.75 differences I have seen.

Hopefully the LHSAA will correct their error as soon as possible.
