For each division which teams do you think are underrated and could go far this year? Also which players aren't getting the respect or attention they should be getting?

I said Denham Springs was a team to watch out for after they beat us 6-0 on the first day of the season, and they have more than backed that up by winning 17 games so far this season. They can easily reach 25 wins this season.
They are currently ranked ninth, but I expect them to be in the top five by the end of the season. Very athletic with some very good BRSC/Alliance club players makes for a tough team to beat. No one will want to face them in the playoffs, especially on their field.
#7 Cam Hilliard is the fastest player I have seen at the high school level and because of him the Jackets can break on any team in an instant. He is a true game changer and I don't quite think he gets the recognition he deserves. He scored five goals against us and presumably many more since. Should be first team All-State without question if he keeps it up.

Country Day might not be the strongest team this year, but look out for them in coming years as they look to develop their young squad.

Looking at d2. Think EDW will be in top four at end of season. Really young bunch but will continue to improve. Also out of the same district Morgan city, looking real good .

"Underated" ... I take this to mean teams we have not traditionally paid much attention to, perhaps haven't even heard their name.
D-I
John Ehret - will be computer ranked probably in top 8 at end of season. Has a series of good results.
D-III
How good are North Vermillion and Glenmora? These teams have had some respectable-to-good results against better known opponents, but play a schedule that makes it tough to judge them. N. Vermillion will probably be highly ranked by the computer at the end of season.
Future D-III programs who warrant a close watch in coming years include International (N.O.). There are a whole slew of teams in D-III not usually thought of as being "elite," that are playing very respectable soccer. These included Hannan, Runnels, Pope John Paul. The face of Louisiana high school soccer is changing at an exponential rate now. The increasing numbers of Hispanic students, and the increasing numbers of students that grew up playing the game on the playgrounds is making it possible for public schools of all sizes to suddenly field team with impressive individual skills. The key is administration-parent-financial support, and stable coaching to merge individual skills into a unit.

Because of his size (or lack of) he can be muscled off the ball as long as there is a physical defense. Might be interesting to review his results against the top opponents. He's very good, but I'm not sure I would put him up for 1st team yet. There's a lot of soccer left in the season. Lets see where it takes us.

Grace King's center back partnership of Jackson Morgan #21 and Almedin Tursunovic are quality center backs, good pace, covering, tackling, and aerial ball winning skills, definitely two good players to look out for. I expect them to be in contention for all district at least

Denham Spring definitely belongs in this conversation. I won't call out individuals, but you cannot deny that what has traditionally a midlevel team in a weaker Div1 District is now putting forth some very good results. 17 wins may have taken 2 or 3 seasons to amass only 4 or 5 years ago. Can they hang with the big boys of Div I, maybe not, but they have vaulted into the second tier for sure and wil definitely give some other teams fits in the playoffs.

For data sake - Cam has scored or assisted (directly, no dribbling) in games against Byrd, Sulphur, St. Amant, Dutchtown, St Mike's, Parkview, Alexandria, and West Monroe....that's off the top of my head. I'm not sure how you qualify top opponents but I think that's a start. I'll leave my opinion out since obviously I am biased.

He is a joy to watch and a talent ! Don't think he marked a point against us but only because he was quickly identified by our backs and closely marked. Safe to say he will surprise many people this year as well as the entire Denham team - quality player and team for sure! I sure like him...compact, skilled, and aggressive!

I like seeing some backs get a little recognition. A few I would throw into the conversation that have left an impression are Catholic's J.Campbell, St.Mike's Silva and DeRobertis, Woodlawn's left back (name?), and Northlake Christian's centerback.

I'll agree with catholic's Josh Campbell. Most athletic player in all of high school soccer hands down. There is no forward he can not keep up with, and no forward that is strong enough to muscle him off of the ball. He is the definition of a brick wall.. a very very fast brick wall.

Woodlawn's left back is a freshman, Edin Rodriguez.

I've had the chance to watch Josh Campbell the last 4 years and I generally agree with prior statements. The matchup I would have enjoyed watching, but will never get the chance based on team schedules would have been St.Mike's forward/midfielder Williams vs. Campbell. Strong technical ability with good athleticism vs speed, strength and smart defending.

Looking into future- Denham Springs has a stable of premier league level club players coming into program over next four years. Many of these players are also involved in ODP These players compete with and against the best players in the State and the Region. I know this doesn't always translate into high school soccer team success, but it does provide the base ingredient for high potential.

Hammond may be on the climb, but they still have a ways to go. One very solid player (#12 I think), but not enough to build around him.
