Ok, who's got the definitive division, district splits for next year? When is the date of the LHSAA districting meeting to fomally decide them? I've got numbers, but first we need to know who is new to the sport as they must commit to playing. I currently have (with the new ones I know) 39 per division or possibly 40. Before anyone plays up. I kind of went over where the splits would currently be somewhere either in this thread or somehwere else. But districts will be decided at reclassification. What is the status of a team like Sam Houston, who dropped boys soccer this year? Do they have to reapply, or should they automatically be scheduled into the district again?

Here are the two models I've seen put forth. Who can provide input (see Catholic PC's request in this thread to be in Lafayette)? Who ultimately decides at these classification meetings? Now, using base geographics as my only guide, here is what I think the Districts can look like, if every school stays in class: D IDistrict 1 | District 2 | District 3 | District 4 | District 5 | District 6 | District 7 | District 8 | Airline | Natchitoches Central | Acadiana | Baton Rouge | Denham Springs | Covington | Destrehan | Bonnabel | Byrd | Pineville | Barbe | Catholic-BR | Hammond | Fontainebleau | Hahnville | Brother Martin | Southwood | West Monroe | Comeaux | Dutchtown | Ponchatoula | Mandeville | HL Bourgeois | Chalmette | | | Lafayette | East Ascension | Walker | Northshore | Thibodaux | Ehret | | | New Iberia | McKinley | Zachary | Slidell | | Higgins | | | Sulphur | St Amant | | St Pauls | | Jesuit |

Unless it has changed, 2 years. So counting this one, they can't have varsity next year either. So if they reapply, they could be back for following season.

Principals can get together and request things for districts. i guess that's okay, but the executive committee should have the final word on that and if applicable, tell the principals to shove it...

Any idea how a school requests to play up in classification? And will they be expected to do this before they understand everything about the new setup?

FWIW, I am asking my Principal to request that Covingon, Hammond, and Ponchatoula stay together. We will see I guess. On another note...if the districts stay are as listed above, I would be willing to wager a coke and a moon pie that I can pick 90% of the teams that will miss the playoffs the next two years. Such is life, the people have spoken.

The districts above are just a guess by ray and some adjustments by me. By no means is any of this official and it may have some teams in wrong divisions even depending on total, mount of teams that declare to play next two years. This was just for fun and educated guess on both ray and I on how it may look. I also, think we could have more than 8 or,less than 8 districts oer division and that's not in stone. Also, I would expect smaller districts. This is going to be fun!

I think it IS fun to speculate and try to guess where the different teams will end up. For teams on the border of two divisions (size wise), it is not even certain what division they will end up in. And to try to see how the geographic jigsaw puzzle fits in different areas of the state for the different divisions is interesting at least.

Interesting I would say for sure. Not too much on the fun side in my book. Its cool if this is your thing. I personally see the LHSAA as a barrier to the growth of our sport. Maybe this time they will surprise me but I am skeptical about anything done by them. Like I said, interesting for sure.

I just received from our principal an email from the LHSAA in reference to the proposal for new soccer divisions. I'd like to point out that the newly added Union Parish program will most likely end up in the same district as Bastrop, Minden, Bossier, North Desoto, and Loyola. I didn't see them listed anywhere in the tables above.

If it says boys only, does that preclude a school from fielding a girls team?

How about the potential newly added programs? Could those still be added to this list or has a deadline passed?
Just asking as I saw schools like Union, Cecilia & St Martinville discussed earlier in this thread & wondering how that might affect what is drawn up above.
