Are the U14-U17 Girls C1 and U14-U18 Boys C1 championships only a one-weekend event this year? What will the tournament format be?

No Shreveport, Monroe or Alexandria...? Interesting Monroe got cut out a few years back when they went to the Comp format and they wanted to have all of the teams playing at the same spot for the same weekend. That made the numbers for the first few weekends huge and while Monroe has the fields, we do not have the refs.

No Shreveport, Monroe or Alexandria...? Interesting Not that interesting as you look at the base of where state referees are located, cost for transportation, housing, etc for them...LSA takes a bath on those locations. Holding down south does have some costs, but nowhere near the expense of bringing in 80% of referees for game coverage

Stop it, you're making me blush. LPL is doing fine. Scheduling games seems to be the only issue, which we will most definitely resolve next year. Currently Cajun SC sit on top of the table with 12 points (4-0-0). Yensi Rodriguez of Lake City is front runner for the golden boot. Finals will be played in New Orleans. U23 program was handed over to the Jesters. Haven't heard much. Regionals will be in Dallas June 6th weekend. Sending two teams for open cup, two for amateur and one for o30. We also increased our numbers by 99.8% Would like to increase them by 50% more by next year. Houston Dynamo U23 and the Texas Premier Soccer League champion will be playing some of our teams in the spring and summer. Other than that, we're trying to increase numbers and participation.

Leaving the U23 to the Jesters? Well, that may explain why you haven't heard much.
Other than that, it sounds very encouraging. Thanks for the update!

Holding down south does have some costs, but nowhere near the expense of bringing in 80% of referees for game coverage FYI. I believe there were only 5 referees from Lake Charles working last years state cup at that location. All others were brought in. I'm not sure why we see a need to go back there, especially on that weekend with that level play while they have a festival going on.

I'm originally from Lake Charles area and it should be out of contention for Contraband Weekends. However, last weekend of Contraband is May 10 so it shouldn't conflict.

Lake Charles might be a little more pleasant if I don't die on the field next round

Are the U14-U17 Girls C1 and U14-U18 Boys C1 championships only a one-weekend event this year? What will the tournament format be? Yes they will all be one weekend events. The actual format would be determined by the number of teams in the bracket. (2, 3, 4, or 6). Leslie Mullins handed out a spreadsheet of the breakdown for the state cup tournaments at the December LCSL meeting. (someone from your club should have it) The format for each of the brackets is in policy 312.9.2 (it's posted on the state's website) Can't copy and paste the table, sorry. Also, keep in mind that the numbers could change depending on the total number of teams registered for state cup in an age group. However, the numbers in the C1 brackets won't dictate a two weekend event, even if they change a little.
