Bringing the pick em competition to the Girls side. For the last several years, we've run various pick 'em contests on the boys side (all for bragging rights). This year, I'm going to run a contest for the girls as well. You'll pick the whole playoffs (for 1, 2, or all 3 divisions) as soon as the brackets are released by LHSAA. You can see some of the testing we did here. The deadline will be prior to the first playoff game. Currently that's Thursday at 3pm, but if there's a game before that, I will make the cutoff will move earlier. Points are awarded for correct picks (1 pt for each in 1st round, 2 ea in 2nd round, 4 ea in 3rd round, etc.) You need to pick all the way through to a Champion. It requires you do 1 round at a time. So pick round 1, click enter, and then go to round 2 and continue to repeat. Your ENTIRE bracket MUST be picked prior to the deadline. You can get your account setup at www.bracketmaker.com - they require an e-mail address, but they haven't spammed me so far. Your e-mail will only be visible to me (not to the other participants). Change your profile name to your LA Prep userid for ease of identifying. I will be displaying the profile names when I publish standings. I will name 3 Divisional Champions and a Grand Champion across all 3 divisions. To participate in the latter, simply make sure to get picks in for all 3 divisions prior to the deadline. You can make your picks HEREIf you have any questions, just ask. It should be a lot of fun (and create some additional banter).

B Too many (boys) memories of Northlake... Haha. Thanks for catching it. It is now corrected. You may want to verify your picks stayed. If you do, I think you'll want to click enter thru EVERY round again to make sure that it shows as complete. I had an issue like that in the testing phase. Loving the snow. Boys have missed 2 days so far. Several 2-hour delays. Lots of sledding. When Andrew was home over Christmas break, we wanted to go snow tubing, but the temps were too warm (ugh!).

What am I doing wrong, p_malinich? When I click on links it says I don't have access. I was able to search by State and find the d1 bracket but didn't see d2 or d3.

I have 4 that have done D1. I just tried my alternate account & I'm getting same error you are. Let me try to debug before I head out to play volleyball (indoor) in about 10 minutes. Hang tight.

For anyone with problems using above links, try this one. It should take you to a page with all 3 listed & then you can pick the one(s) you want. Please let me know if it works or doesn't. Thanks! Link to brackets (if others aren't working): Pick 'em competition

oldhattrick3 - please finish your D1 picks prior to the deadline - if you finish it after, it drops you to bottom as a late entry.

So who are the "experts" picking?? Let's take a look.
DI: St. Scholastica is a strong choice with 19 of the 29 picks (remainder divided among Mt. Carmel, Dominican, Mandeville, and Dutchtown)
DII: Ben Franklin has most but not all of the picks here (14) with Loyola in 2nd (5). The lone remaining vote goes to Vandebilt.
DIII: In a mirror of the boys side, Northlake & University are in a toss-up (7 each for girls picks) with other choices going to Sacred Heart NO, McGehee, Hannan, and Newman.
So is that who you would pick? If not, share your wisdom & get your picks in now.

DII: No surprises there DIII: A little surprised PJP did not get one pick.

Can someone tell me what is visible to you?
If you follow the link at top and click on any of the divisions, I think you should see a list of the 3 divisions. Then click on one of those and it opens YOUR bracket. Then click on Prediction Leaderboard & you should get a list of all entrants.
If you get that far,
1) Do you see name, winner projected, and entry time (Pacific)? I can see the list for all 3, but do not see the prediction for D2. D1 & D3 are okay.
2) Can you click on the username to go see their bracket? Again, doesn't seem to be working for D2.
If a few of you could check it out, I would appreciate it. Let me know.

D2 girls must've been tied somehow to the boys side. It is now working as it should. You should be able to view the leaderboard & from there go out to any of the other brackets. DO NOT MAKE CHANGES TO YOUR BRACKET. It will let you do so, but then it drops you to late entry & behind everyone else that was on time (the way < 15 games should work). And I can't change it if you do. So view only - don't predict. Note that times are Pacific.
