SportsNOLA.com Prep Soccer presented by First NBC Bank features Division I semifinal between Dominican, SSA NEW ORLEANS – SportsNOLA.com Prep Soccer presented by First NBC Bank makes its debut Friday with a Division I girls semifinal match between second-seeded St. Scholastica Academy and third-seeded St. Mary’s Dominican High School at Pan American Stadium. The live stream will begin just prior to the 5 p.m. kickoff. St. Scholastica (19-1-3) is in the semifinals for the 11th consecutive year after a 3-0 victory over district rival Covington in the quarterfinals. Dominican (17-6-5) took a 3-1 road victory over Natchitoches Central in the quarterfinals Monday. The winner advances to the state championship on Feb. 28 in what is assured of being an all-southeast Louisiana pairing. The other semifinal, also on Friday, matches top-seeded Mount Carmel and fourth-seeded Mandeville. SportsNOLA’s Jude Young will be joined by Alan DeRitter to describe the action from Pan American. SportsNOLA.com is complementing its First NBC Bank Prep Showcase schedule in 2014-15 with an additional 20 events that will air exclusively on Louisiana’s leading independent sports website. Additional webcasts will be announced as the season progresses. The schedule of web exclusive events will include a variety of different prep sports. New Orleans-based First NBC Bank, in an effort to enhance the visibility of high school sports in the region, is the presenting sponsor of the web coverage in addition to its title sponsorship of the First NBC Bank Prep Showcase, which airs on both SportsNOLA and WHNO TV 20.

The Advocate has a well-rounded approach to its coverage of all prep sports and with the addition of Mike Gegenheimer, a former soccer player, has raised the level of its soccer coverage to another level whether it's been preview stories, game stories or feature articles.

I may be nieve and just wrong, but hopefully the advocate and other newspapers have the state championship game results as front cover The New Orleans Advocate may have a winning team from its readership area on the front. Should U-High's girls win they may be a candidate for front page treatment in the Baton Rouge edition.
