There's usually some discussion on this sort of stuff by this point in the season, but I havent seen any yet so I guess I'll start it. Opinions on who should make All-State this year and why?

*Insert every kid on the team I play for or my son plays for* Is Laprep doing its Starting XI, loJic? Yes, so please *insert your entire team, plus you, or your son and his entire team here* I've asked the public for the last 7 years their opinion on who's the best and out of the 10,000 responses maybe 20 of them were actually respectable. When an opposing coach or parent says a player is good, that isn't on their club team, then I can respect their opinions. But when I hear the whole CSC/BR Alliance team being mentioned or LA Fire team in the same response, it just doesn't work for me.

Let's be brutally honest here.
The bulk of the first team selections will come from the two teams in the finals.
And a substantial part of the second team along with a few from the semi final teams.
So, really you might as well call it the "all tournament team".
Just more convenient for everyone involved.

I have only one nomination only because I've seen him play in multiple games.
Christian Hernandez #1, So (East Jefferson) - Anchors the midfield. Kid plays likes an adult. Never shy's away from any challenge and is constantly working. Not the prettiest playing style but he's the type of player you can build a team around.
Others that I like when I saw them but can't comment on their overall play through the season.
Grace King - The serbian kids and one of their midfielders were all impressive. Their freshman class is strong also
Lakeshore - Mike Paulsen
Lusher - Fuselier
Ben Franklin - Oliver kid
Helen Cox - Whoever their forward was that gave Franklin trouble.
Bonnabel - Centerback and Sharif

I will make some nominations from my team. But with that said I'm pretty sure anyone who has seen these players play will agree with me that they deserve some sort of recognition.
From Beau Chene: Juan Carlos Brito - leads state in goals scored and total points according to maxpreps. He is a play maker and by far one of the best players I have ever seen in Louisiana
David Smith - leads the state in assist according to maxpreps. He is a another playmaker and does all the little things you can't teach
Gavin Stelly - this kid is a deadly defender. Wins everything in the air that comes near him defensively and when he comes up for set pieces.
Briley Dronet - has 25 clean sheets this year. He comes up with huge saves game after game. Vocal leader from the back and distributes the ball well
Now players I seen from other teams:
Northlake Christian: Mason Cook, and idk his name but the monster center back that is like 7'
Newman: Sutton and Savoie
University: the forward #4 I think his last name starts with a K
East Jefferson: Christian Hernandez
St. Thomas More: Payton Morter
Bolton: Nic M. (Dril's brother, don't know how to spell his last name)
Acadiana: Kade Kling

I'm going to start with my objective nominees and then move more into opinion:
From maxpreps leaders that I have seen play: Juan Carlos Brito, Mitchell Williams - both versatile scorers that can drop into midfield. Both have prove. To be goalscorers against quality opponents. I have to discount Mr. Hall as his stats were incredibly inflated by scoring huge numbers on a few hapless opponents.
David Smith - strong skill to set the table as evidenced by assists. Doesn't hurt to have Juan Carlos to work with.
Colin Hanley - not only has the gk stats, but proven keeper on top D1 side
Now those that may be a bit more subjective:
Northlake Christian - Mason Cook Grace King - center back (name?) Ben Franklin - #16 Dante? Denham Springs - Cam Hilliard, Zack Boothe Acadiana - Cade Kling, Salvador Colin St Thomas Moore - Payton Marter Catholic - Josh Campbell
I'm sure there are others that are deserving, but this is the list that came to mind.

Nod and wink on those stats- a few teams last year had more assist than goals- perhaps a few pk s were assisted. Here is few notables: # 35 for st mike, #10 for NLC , #10 for Acadian, #7 for denham, , goalie for BC , redhead lad for ST Moore, #11 def for Acadian. . Gary from new Iberia. Coach from Morgan city.

I would hope that not to be the case as there will be some excellent players that won't or haven't made the finals.

Shariff Shariff from Bonnabel. The coaches who don't vote for him, are the ones who didn't see him play. He was the best player we played against all year.

[br Goals are goals - both those scorers are the real deal - if the comment was aimed at assists - then I'll concede the point. We overlap on many - not sure on 35 for st mikes - that could be Fletcher. 10 for Northlake I believe is Mason, 10 for Acadiana is Sal Colin. 7 for DS is Cam Hilliard, Don't know GK for BC, red head is Payton Marter. Not sure of the 11 defender.

How many people make all state If memory serves correctly - 11 players per division for. 1st team. Same for second team. LAPrep will make one selection across all divisions for a separate honor. Again, this is what I remember , but I could be wrong.
