Be sure to watch at 10:30. It is half of the show but a step in the right direction. Please tune in to show that there is a market for soccer and hopefully it can grow to a one hour show. You can watch on www.wgno.com if you are not in the Metro New Orleans Area. God Bless You All.

Jesterla, you are way too harsh. I'm just thankful I was able to watch the game via live stream. I hope they can do it again. What a great way to promote a sport we all love.

After I read jesterla's post I watched the game live stream. I would have to agree that WGNO was one sided on this game. They kept saying how strong Dom players were and how they were a threat to SSA. Well even after SSA was up 4 goals at half time they were still commenting on how strong Dom team was. I think the post showed how WGNO failed to report the game fairly for SSA.

Well the station is in NOLA and covers area sports and is probably more in tune with Dom, not that against SSA. Probably announcer student or volunteer also trying to keep the watchers interested that Dom might come back. How did it hurt anyone? You never know - Jes scored 4 goals in 20 minintes down 3-0. Too many just sit back and complain too fast. The volunteers admin. news people etc. do a decent job. Before you complain, get in the arena and make your own presence and ideas known, in advance. You might be surprised how receptive the listener would be. Too many sit back and criticize - it starts inside their own teams, and grows outward, yet still never getting in the game. Please get in the game. And if you do - do it responsibly - be positive, especially to other kids and parents, they are just like you in every way. WGSO has tried to covered soccer in this area with live reports , and it does a very good job, in my opinion. They are a friend to the cause of youth soccer. I apologize for using the names of the SSA players or scenerios of the game. This is not about SSA, Dominican, MC or any other High School soccer team. This is about one thing the erroneous reporting from WGNO. It's about "TAKING PRIDE IN YOUR WORK". I enjoy some of the comments about being glad that WGNO is taking the time out to video and stream soccer games in LA. That is wonderful!! but as a news organization you can at least report things as you see them, SIMPLE. After watching what happend at this sporting event I question the accuracy of WGNO's news reporting. Again I apologize for using names of SSA players, I wanted people to watch the stream and tell me if I am reaching.
I am being positive, take pride in your work WGNO.

On behalf of not only SSA soccer but all those involved with soccer; I think it was a great gesture and step in the right direction for the sport. Our fans that were not able to attend certainly appreciated the chance to be able to watch the match streaming live. I heard from a number of SSA soccer alumni that tuned in to watch the game and were thankful to have had that opportunity.
Calling a live sporting event is difficult and I appreciate the time and effort of those involved to help promote the sport.

Thanks for the comments on both ends. We had a rough roster given to us and absolutely NO time to do a thorough background on the players. An example is that this week, no one has approached us about doing state games. If they do today, we can do proper justice to the players. Getting the rosters at game-time makes doing even a simple internet search impossible while action is going on. I am glad you are frustrated however. I am more-so because I want the games done like other sports. I want people to hire us weeks in advance so we can do a thorough job. Baseball hires Channel 20 out months in advance and the result is that the commentators know the players well as supposed to knowing about them. We do deserve better and the resource is there.... we just have to pony up the funds to actualize it. And thanks mortner... it is VERY hard to accurately call a game when you are fiddling through rosters and the like. God Bless You.

Coach thanks for all you do to promote soccer. Without you, I doubt the live stream would have happened. To think there would be live coverage of a soccer game and a girls one at that would have been laughed at ten years ago. Now if you can only convince the powers that be to do a live stream of all the Championship games. Thanks again and good luck in promoting a game that you so clearly love.

Thank you very, very much. I appreciate the support and know that I totally understand and respect those who criticize. We should have the best product on the screen professionally done. We are still years away from that and every broadcast is a step in that direction. God Bless You All.

My point was made and I commend the WGNO response. We can only hope and pray that our great teams have a good match with no injuries.

Thanks so much for your positive comments. We have to pay for rights with the LHSAA and then pay the station. There are different rates for radio and TV. Please contact me for the specific details. God Bless You.
