Should PJP win this game it will be a affirmation of their players but also of equal importance, solid coaching and understanding what it takes to make players successful for the team's goal, winning.

Patriot fan - Regardless of the outcome of the state championship game Thursday, PJP's Coach JB Mahoney has, for the last 5 years, "made solid coaching & understanding what it takes to make players successful for the team's goal, winning". & winning with class & teaching his players the importance of team work - but more important -- winning with humility.

My hero and mentor John Wooden teaches the definition of success... The peace of mind knowing you did all you could to become the best that you are capable of becoming. That definition has been passed on to all my teams. This team has this peace of mind. Whether we win or lose this final matters not in he least. We play not caring about the result. I pray we play our best and if our best isn't good enough to win then even in losing we still win.

Anyone have rosters (with numbers) they can link to or post in this thread or message me? I'm planning on attending and providing updates in this thread. It'd be nice to have names instead of just numbers to go by.

This appears to be current for PJP: www.maxpreps.com/high-schools/pope-john-paul-ii-jaguars-(slidell,la)/girls-soccer-winter/roster.htm I don't see one for University at the school site nor MaxPreps.

Starting lineups being introduced. Decent crowd so far. U-High fans taking the side behind the benches. PJP fans on the opposite side.

UHS in all-white unis with black numbers.
PJP in navy-blue with white sleeves and white on the sides of the jerseys, and white numbers.
Referees making their final checks, teams heading onto the field to get started.

UHS attacking from my right to left. Should have some help from the wind. PJP to kickoff.
And we're off!

First shot of the match: PJP's Marlena Cutura passes from the right and finds her sister. First time shot misses the goal.

UHS free kick near midfield. The keeper comes up to take it, it bounces wide of the goal.
