In Louisiana soccer
Jesuit down 3-0 to possibly a more talented Acadiana team. Less than 15 minutes remain. Trip to the state championship on the line. Jesuit wins 4-3. I cannot think of a more dramatic comeback in LA soccer history. Can you?

Definitely the Year Of The Comeback. If this is 1st then Morgan City over ED White has to be second.

True, and impressive comebacks nonetheless. I guess I'm looking at how far apart I consider those teams, skill wise. Not to diminish anyone's accomplishments. . .

Lafayette vs. Jesuit back in 2006 was perhaps the most contentious game in playoff history before and after

So there are two no votes. What are the other candidates?

I cannot think of a more dramatic comeback in LA soccer history. Can you? Just to be picky, it was not 3-0 with less than 15 min remaining. It was less than 20, though. Based on the reporting I saw, there were something like 17 or 18 minutes left, when Jesuit first scored. That doesn't diminish the drama, though. To go from 3-0 down to tied 3-3 in less than 10 minutes is quite exciting (and disheartening, I'm sure, for the Acadiana team/fans). Would love to have seen that game!

Are you sure this wasn't the greatest collapse ever?

Blue Jays won that's all that matters.

2006 teurlings vs opelousas catholic state quarterfinals. Down 2-0 with 3 minutes left. Teurlings scores 3 goals to win the game and move on to semis Vs Opelousas Catholic! Remember it and kniw most of the kids that were a part of this game. I am an Opelousas Catholic Alumni and it was the year before we restarted soccer at Beau Chene so I was there. In utter shock at the tactical mistakes on one side and tactical genius on the other. OC was the better team as Teurlings was still a year away from being the dominant team they became... But a half field trap up 2 with 5 to play in quarterfinals!? TCH went high 3 and scored and scored and scored. No adjustment was made to counter the high 3... And no attempt to prevent the collapse. Still playing a high line trap tied at 2. I know kids who played on this team, who to this day can't believe how they tactically lost that game. Feel bad for them but it all goes back to Timbertwin and Nutmeg as my example of a 2 goal lead being most dangerous lead in soccer. OC made one more quarterfinal run losing 1-0 to a better Teurlings team the next year. Since then, OC has fallen quite far due to issues with high school baseball and other sports at the school not giving soccer the attention needed. They have nearly 125 or more kids from Kindergarten to 6th grade playing the sport in rec school league. After that... Most quit. The few that contunue, lose 2-3 valuable developmental years and it makes the school lose any chance of great soccer program. I can say, there are 2 young 7th graders who should help as 8th graders and into their high school years as they played competitive soccer. But nothing else besides that coming up. I wish to see OC back as a power one day. Hopefully they can get it back! I hate seeing my alumni treat the sport of soccer this way. They have a good young coach and great athletes that try their best. I think it's on the way up, but more support is need from the parents and administration!
