What an exciting week for High School Soccer! With all of the State Finals set and the first ever (7th annual) All Star game during the high school season, Louisiana is set for 8 high quality soccer games this week. Below is the Team schedule for All Star Saturday. Thanks to all of the LHSSCA coaches who are helping to work not only the All Star event, but all of the State Championships as well. It should be an exciting week to showcase our great sport! Look for more information during this week! Doug Hamilton President, LHSSCA

Great to see the All Star game on the same day as the Div I championships. I'm sure it took a lot of work to make this happen. Shout out to those ten years ago who pushed to make an all star game a reality, including PutMeInCoach. Hopefully it will be well attended.

Thread title should say Pan Am, not Tad.
Rosters are on the LHSAA site. I'd link, but it's kind of a pain from my phone.

For the East team, the two boys from Jesuit and one boy from St. Paul's obviously won't be playing since they have the title game that night. Also Mason Cook from Northlake won't be able to play.
Some of the alternates will be called up. I know one of the alternates is Ashton Fletcher from St. Michael.
Doesn't look like any changes will be needed for the West team.

Maybe someone can explain this to me, why does Jesuit have three players in this game? Two players for the east team and one for the west team. I was under the impression each coach could submit only 2 players.

At least they could spell the names right Vandebuilt and Uhigh coach Christ Mitchell agree. St Michaels must have been the best D2 team of all time if they have 3 all State quality guys. St Paul's with their one guy must be envious of all that talent.

Shortly after the All-Star game, at Pan AM, the Louisiana Premier League will be having the top two teams going head to head at 3:30. Cajun SC and Motagua NO.
Last game of the season for both teams. Winner wins the table.

St Paul's with their one guy must be envious of all that talent. Even if we went out in the quarterfinals (narrowly beaten in OT by the team that may very well win the D2 title again) that doesn't mean we were overrated and our best players aren't worthy of the recognition. You don't understand the nomination process.
We can only look after our kids. If St. Paul's only nominates one kid, that's not our problem. Each school is allowed to nominate two players, plus an alternate. St. Paul's for some inexplicable reason did not nominate two players, although it doesn't matter since they wouldn't have been able to play anyway.
And yes, some of the misspellings are baffling.

A post earlier by coach moser (subsequently deleted) stated he nominated both Colin Hanley GK and Barrick Roberts MF and only the Roberts boy was accepted. He wondered at the process which excluded such a talented player. My question has still not been answered, How did Jesuit get 3 players (2 for the west and 1 for the east) on the teams?

It is my understanding that SPS did nominate more than one player

It is my understanding that SPS did nominate more than one player Well then it is baffling as to how that happened. St. Paul's should be able to get any two or three players they want on the All-Star team this year. Especially Colin, as he is without question the best GK in the state. Not sure what happened there, but I think all of the kids on both teams are great players, and most have made All-State lists before.
This is the first proper All-Star game we've had, so there's plenty of room to improve the process.
At the end of the day, it doesn't create much of a problem since the St. Paul's and Jesuit boys wouldn't have been able to play anyways. I know they'd much prefer winning a state title to playing in the All-Star game.

What does that mean? I've attended the All Star game in previous years and it appeared to be proper.
Meaning it's right at the end of the season where almost all of the players are available and at peak fitness.
You didn't get the same thing when it was in July. Quite a few of the selected players were unavailable and they certainly weren't at peak fitness.
Now that it's tied in with the championship games, I think you'll get lots more interest and participation.

Doesn't look like any changes will be needed for the West team. If the alternate is to come from the same team as the player who will be absent then I believe that it will be Indiana Brunner from Northlake. But I don't know the rules so don't quote me on that.
