Is it possible the St. Paul's kid did not turn his paperwork in on time?

His coach said he was not picked for the team in the deleted post. The issue is not with the number of St. Paul's players on the team, but why does Jesuit have 3 players?!
My question has been answered via email.

My question has been answered via email. Could you share with the rest of the class? I'm curious how they could end up with 3 if you are allowed to only nominate two, and end up with 3. And also how the third wound up on the opposite geographical area?

You may nominate as many seniors as you wish. For the initial selections, two per school are permitted. After that, alternates may be chosen that would exceed the initial two-per-school limit. In the case of specific, specialized positions like goalkeeper, the LHSAA has always allowed more latitude.
I was unable to attend this year's selection meeting due to a sick child, so I cannot specifically address this year's selection discussion. I can state that, in the past on the girls side, Mount Carmel had players selected for field positions on the east and a goalkeeper was selected for the west.

I really think #10 Julio from Rapides HS deserved to be in this game. Great player who has lead this new program to the playoffs the last 5 yrs with multiple MVP awards in our district. This game was created for players like him and I hope that players like him will not be overlooked in the future.

This is just my personal opinion but I don't think you should have crossover from east to west or vice versa. If it's a goalkeeper problem then coaches need to nominate their senior keepers.
In all the divisions there have to be good senior keepers on both regions.

Lafayette High's senior keeper is outstanding and should be there before a keeper from the East.

Just curious where the East becomes the West. I assume New Orleans, Northshore area, amd Baton Rouge in east. Where would Monroe and Houma be?
I remember back in D1 days when the west prelims were in Monroe. I laughed cause one of the parents said if we were any further east, we would be playing in the MS Cup.

Alexandria had a rebuilding year only fielding two seniors, one who played soccer for only two years in goal. Jonathan Turrubiartes was Cenla's first All-State Freshmen and had a great high school career. Though our record did not show it, he as an individual is one of the smartest and physical players on the field. Anyone who has played us can tell you he is a solid centerback. Most goals allowed this year came from set pieces and not from the run of play. Those scored on the run of play were mainly due because he was pushed up trying to score. He was very dangerous on set pieces, as he was our leading scorer for most of the season.
0-1 vs Beau Chene 0-1 vs Neville 0-1 vs Denham Springs 2-2 vs ESA 2-1 vs Leesville 1-1 vs St. Thomas More 0-0 vs Ruston 0-1 vs West Monroe
These are just some notable results that he is soley responsible for. As a former All-Star coach, hands down he is one of the best defenders in the state.

Turrubiartes would be a good addition, maybe next year you can coach in the game again and bring some Cenla talent with you.

so who will be the goalkeeper for the west team? i agree with laffysoccermom that doesn't make any sense to have one from the east when there are several deserving young men from the west to choose from. IMO this looks biased. why even bother to have east or west teams if you can have crossover?

Are all foreign exchange students counted as seniors for this game? We have a FE student named Pablo Chaves who would be very deserving of playing if this is the situation.

Nothing against exchange students, but I think it should be for resident players only. I think in years past this wasn't an issue because the game was held in the summer.

Some coaches were not aware of the new timetable for nomination and thus, several deserving players not included through no fault of their own.
If you don't have a board hype squad or an organized coach you may not get your well-deserved recognition.

Shortly after the All-Star game, at Pan AM, the Louisiana Premier League will be having the top two teams going head to head at 3:30. Cajun SC and Motagua NO. Last game of the season for both teams. Winner wins the table. So who's going to be sticking around to watch these two teams battle it out? It may be good for some of these young men to see the game a different pace. Motagua is loaded with former college, pro and even international players. Cajun SC has done well representing Lafayette and always brings a good fight.
