In Louisiana high school soccer history, who would you say is the best boys team?
This St. Paul's team just completed what might have been the most impressive and dominating run in playoff history. Are they in contention?

Absolutely, 30 win seasons don't just grow on trees. Definitely up there

I can't compare them to the other outstanding teams of the past but this years schedule for SPS featured games against some of the best Mississippi and Florida teams, including a win vs the 6A Mississippi state champion Madison Central. This team deserves to be mentioned with some of the greats from the past.

121 goals for with only 9 against certainly puts them in rarified air

I believe northshore was the only game they trailed all year, also they didn't allow a goal for last 19 games

Any team claiming to be all time great should be compared to the 2007 Jesuit team. If I remember correcty they went undefeated, only had 4 goals scored against them during the regular season, and were never scored against in the playoffs.

Cynical! Money had nothing to do with their accomplishment.

Mandeville and Northshore were the only Div I Dist 6 goals against St. Paul's. Baton Rouge was the only other Louisiana side to score a goal. It was in a preseason tune up match. This season, the SPS Defense conceded only 9 Goals in 34 matches but never allowed more than one goal against in any given match. Senior Goalkeeper, Colin Hanley, posted 21 Shutouts in 1,898 mins played, allowing only 7 Goals, resulting in a 0.3 GAA in all matches saving 90% of the Shots On Goal. In 19 games against Louisiana opponents he allowed only 3 Goals, posting 16 Shutouts ending with a 0.15 GAA against Louisiana teams.

Not cynical just a fact. No geographical boundaries will always give private schools an advantage over public schools. a few well placed aide packages and involvement in the big clubs and you have championships.

St Paul's isn't the only private school in Louisiana. Additionally, money had nothing to do with these young men choosing St Paul's. Narrow minded comment.

Do you really believe that the St. Paul's or Jesuits of the world would have the sustained success they have if they had to rely on talent coming only from within a certain zip code? I don't mean to suggest they are not talented or deminish in anyway what they have accomplished on the field they are a great team.

If it's so easy why can't other private schools do it in Division I? Give credit where credit is due and stop whining

Congrats to the Wolves and well done all around. Coach Moser did an excellent job. As for determining the best ever etc., that is subjective. Here is what I will say, this edition of St. Paul was the most tactically sound team I have seen. They played as a unit better than any St. Paul squad before them imo. Ironically, I believe I have seen a number of more talented teams (at St. Paul alone no less), but none that played the game as well as a group as this year's squad. No doubt they have talent, and some of that talent is of the top shelf variety. However, I feel it is their ability to play so well as a team (while accomplishing all that they have done) that puts them in the conversation for best of all time. Being in the conversation alone is special. Again, congrats to the Wolves and kudos to Coach Moser and this staff.
