The Nicholls State University Soccer team will be hosting its fifth annual Colonel Pride 6-A-Side Soccer Tournament at the Nicholls State University soccer complex.

Throw a group of friends together and play in the high school age bracket or the open cup for a fun yet competitive set of games. You do not have to be from the same high school or even registered club members. Who knows maybe you can talk your parents into getting a team to challenge them to see who knows more about the game once and for all!

You may have trouble getting referees for the games, since this will not be a sanctioned game by LHSAA, or U.S. Soccer. This means the referees will not be covered by liability insurance in case there are any problems. Then again there will probably be plenty of referees willing to work the games if the game fees are high enough.

They use Nicholls players to referee the games to save on fees, since it is a fundraiser event for them.

Lhsaa has not had liability coverage for referees for at least 6 years, likely longer but my memory only goes back so far
