Thanks Wes

beauchenecoachDon't you have something to share with the great people of laprep? I find it disturbing that not everyone's principal and AD has shared this with their entire coaching staff as starting with football this year...ALL SPORTS MUST USE MAXPREPS TO ENTER SCHEDULE AND RESULTS FOR LHSAA. LHSAA will pull info from MAXPREPS to do their power ratings. This is MANDATORY. But it then again, I'm hearing soccer has a ton of coaches who also didn't know the soccer online rules clinic was due by last Sunday instead of the normal Sunday before the first practice. I'm trying to find out what to do for everyone who missed the deadline.

Do we enter tournament games after they are played or add them before hand when the schedules are released?

Rain outs? I do not see a option for rained out matches on max preps? Am I missing something, or do you just leave the game as is until you make it up? I know on lhsaa there was an option for postponed and will play at a later date? Does Max Preps have this?

This is my understanding for how to handle rain-outs/postponements and the like:
Go to your master schedule in MaxPreps and update the date and time of the match once it is rescheduled. You can make a note in the "Notes" section that it is a rescheduled match if you like.
The LHSAA system seems to be pulling updates from MaxPreps every 24 hours.
To all those more informed than I, please let me know if I gave any bad info here.

It appears that lhsaa website doesn't have districts correct but they are right in max preps. Not sure what's up with that

Heard they're cancelling the soccer finals again this year. State champions will be decided by rock-paper-scissors between the teams' head coaches.

I'm guessing that's about 40 teams per Division with about 150 teams total. At the other end of the spectrum, PA has 3 Divisions for 580 teams (about 190-200 per Division). However, they are adding a 4th Division next year (I think) that will drop the Division size to about 140-150 per Division.

Yeah. Pennsylvania is a massive state, for sure. Pretty soon y'all might have to split up the state for high school athletics like Texas, California, and, I think, Florida do.
At one point Texas had 128-team playoffs for baseball. It got to the point where if they had 32-team playoff like we do for most sports, lots of great teams wouldn't make the playoffs at all, so they had to split up the whole state to get deserving teams in.

The districts in PA vary in size. Josiah plays in one that has 45 teams (1 district). Some districts have a handful of teams. Only 16 Teams advance to state playoffs based on size of their district. All 4 semi-finalists from ours make it. But some districts have their champions play each other and only the winner advances. It's a huge process.

We have already had a nice growth spurt in year one of 4 divisions... And that's what it's done for. To get schools of similar size together instead of class B size schools playing with the largest 3A schools. It works for similar sports like volleyball (which has 5 divisions averaging 36-38 teams). Same model used for soccer... I already hear many more schools are considering adding next year, mostly of the division 4 size. I can't think of anyone who has complained or is against this change.

Do we include out of state competitors on our MaxPreps schedules?
