There is a new professional soccer team in Shreveport. The Rafters F.C. will start play next year. Greg Palmer has been named the coach. They will be playing in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) South Region’s South Central Conference. Can't wait to go out and support a local pro soccer team.

Hope they do well. Heard the level was not that good from a player. A lot of LSUA and centenary players. A lot of players did not know about the existence of the team.

I know the head coach and assistant coach are trying to keep Louisiana players in state. Centenary has a great Coach who wants to recruit locally (in state) because he recognizes the talent available. Problem lies in the DIII status and the fact that grades determine amount of scholarship awarded. Very expensive private school but with the right people in place, I think that program can flourish.
