This week he broke Ruud van Nistelrooy's EPL record of scoring in 10 consecutive league matches by scoring in an incredible 11th straight match.
Keep in mind he plays for Leicester City, a small club by EPL standards, so it's not like he has world class players setting him up every match. He's leading a small club to the top of the table almost single-handedly. To think they were nearly relegated last season, and they might be in the Champions League next season if they can keep up their form.
With Rooney aging quickly and Sturridge constantly injured, Vardy's emergence as a star is great news for our English friends, as the Three Lions could really use some young blood in the team, much like the US national team right now.

The biggest story is that he was playing on a team in the 8th tier of English football only a few years ago. That's like somebody playing in the Louisiana Premier League and making it in Europe. Incredible story.

Vardy began his senior career with Stocksbridge Park Steels, breaking into the first team in 2007 and spending three seasons before joining Northern Premier League side Halifax Town in 2010
According to wiki English football league system, stockbridge was in division 7 when he played for them...and Halifax division 5
Regardless, it is quite the interesting story of a guy chasing his dream...

Streak came to an end today, as Leicester thumped Swansea 3-0, but none of the Foxes' three goals came from Vardy.
Chelsea lost to Bournemouth, a newly promoted team picked by nearly everyone to finish 20th, at home today. They're in real danger of relegation a year after winning the title if they keep their horrendous form up, but I doubt they'll be in the bottom 3 come the end of May. Newcastle, Sunderland, and Villa looking like they're going down, especially Villa. Winless in their last 14 with 11 losses. Brad Guzan often single-handedly keeps them in games.
