How US Soccer mistreats World Cup winning USWNT

Last July, when the 24 members of the U.S. Women’s National Team rolled down New York City’s Canyon of Heroes, they had every reason to believe they were on top of the world. Days earlier the team had trounced Japan to capture its third Word Cup and now the city was honoring them with a ticker-tape parade, the first ever for a women’s sports team. Their World Cup medals around their necks, the beaming players basked in the admiration of their rapturous fans. Carli Lloyd — who would later be named 2015’s world player of the year — hoisted the World Cup trophy for all to see. Alex Morgan posted photos of herself waving an American flag to her 2 million Twitter followers. Hope Solo, the edgy superstar, snapped selfies with her beaming teammates, confetti dancing around them.

Didn't read article but have been following the story.

Let's not kid ourselves. We all know why the MNT make more money. It's because they generate more money. More people buy MNT products. More people watch the MNT. More people go to MNT games. All of these things add up to more money generated than the women. No I am not a sexist for accepting the reality that is more people care about men's sports. look at the stadiums during the World Cup and look at stadiums during the women's World Cup. There are MAJOR differences. If more people buy more tickets to men's games then the men should get more money. Winning doesn't matter when it comes to money here. Arguing that the WNT should make as much money as the men's is like arguing that the winner of league 2 should make the same as an average premier league team.

I would be interested to see attendance and viewing figures for the USMNT and the USWNT. I agree with what you're saying on a worldwide basis but not sure it's as true in US and I feel like pay should be based on US.
