Somebody please give us an excuse as to why a state championship game is scheduled for 3 o'clock. Endymion. Normally the games are played on Wednesday through Saturday, but the schedule had to be compressed this year due to Mardi Gras.

Somebody please give us an excuse as to why a state championship game is scheduled for 3 o'clock. The morons have a game scheduled before it at 12:30 pm. They will use Mardi Gras as an excuse but the dates of Mardi Gras were available about a century before they planned the season. I just saw that - Country Day and Newman get to play on their lunch hour. That is pretty disrespectful, hopefully they let the students out for the game.

Somebody please give us an excuse as to why a state championship game is scheduled for 3 o'clock. It's because soccer is the red-headed stepchild of LHSAA. Even LSA, for all its faults, knows to take Mardi Gras into account when scheduling league games.

Endymion. Normally the games are played on Wednesday through Saturday, but the schedule had to be compressed this year due to Mardi Gras. Endymion is Saturday the 25th Yes, and that's why they had to shift the schedule. Championship games are normally Wednesday through Saturday with one day per division, but they couldn't play on Saturday this year (Endymion lines up right outside Tad Gormley, and the crowds are monstrous in that area). Rather than move everything forward one day and play Tuesday through Friday, LHSAA deciddd to compress the schedule instead.

Yes, and that's why they had to shift the schedule. Which is why, WHEN YOU KNOW WHEN MARDI GRAS IS FOR THE NEXT FEW HUNDRED YEARS you start the playoffs a week earlier or later. I agree -- to a point. In order to do that you would have to shift the entire season and start a week earlier if you moved the championships ahead a week, which would conflict with club soccer and other school sports (many schools can't access their fields until the almighty football is complete -- soccer may bruise the turf or mess up their fancy field markings). Moving the finals back a week presents a whole different set of issues with Mardi Gras, as many school systems in South Louisiana are out of school that entire week. The easier solution would be to hold the championships in a different location, but that all depends on which cities submit bids. There may be conflicts with Mardi Gras again in 2020 and 2022. Hopefully LHSAA will consider that when awarding the finals.

Lakeshore with a pretty decent-sized student section and I just saw two more school buses pull in as I was walking to the stadium. STM with not as many students but they are making a lot of noise cheering their starting lineup.

Lakeshore FK just outside the box right wing. Keeper punches. Sent back in, eventually out for a corner. Corner past the back post. Shot, out for a goal kick.
