2017 Labor Day Cup: General Information
Labor Day Cup - September 2nd - 3rd, 2017
Classification and Purpose
The Baton Rouge Soccer Association (BRSA) has added the Labor Day Cup to give teams a tournament early in the season. BRSA conducts the Labor Day Cup for Recreation and Premier teams registered with the United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA) and US Club. The Labor Day Cup is sanctioned through the Louisiana Soccer Association (LSA) and open to boys and girls premier teams from U-9 through U-19. U9-U12 WILL PLAY 9 V 9. U9 and U10 games will be played within a jamboree format (2 games on Saturday with no finals). The Labor Day Cup’s purpose is to offer teams of all levels an early season tournament option prior to league play while promoting the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, and courage.
Entry Requirements
Teams wishing to enter BRSC Labor Day Cup should submit an online application form beginning on Monday July 24th and ending on Monday, August 14th . The entry fee is $425 for U9-U10, $475 for U11-U12, and $525 for U13-U19. Teams will be accepted to participate based on their competitive record in order to guarantee quality matches for all teams.
Please be aware that the 2017 BRSC Labor Day Cup tournament is a stay to play tournament.
All players participating must be registered to the team on which they are playing, and a player may only participate with one team in the tournament. Team rosters are limited to eighteen players. Guest players are allowed per LSA bylaws: a maximum of three guest players on a team traveling from outside of Louisiana, with the proper loan papers.
Tournament Location:
The 2017 Labor Day Cup tournament is happy to host teams from the states of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama at the beautiful Burbank Soccer Complex.
The Burbank Soccer complex is a 22 field soccer complex (consisting of 8 lighted fields) that has been the home of both the 2010 and 2014 USYSA Southern Regional Soccer Tournament.
Team Registration
1.) Team Registration will register at the site headquarters for the field on which they play at least one hour prior to their first game.
All teams must present:
· Five copies of their official roster, listing all coaches and players with jersey numbers (copies for BRSC to keep)
· Valid USYSA picture ID cards to match their roster
· Medical Authorization Forms for all players
Teams from outside of Louisiana must also furnish
an approved USYSA Travel Permit with their Travel Roster.
2.) Teams may also check in on line starting August 21st, closing on Thursday, August 31st at Midnight.
Game Information
All teams will be scheduled to play at least three games. Depending on the number of teams in an age group, bracket play followed by playoff(s) or a round-robin format may be scheduled. Every effort will be made to form USYSA single age divisions; however the Tournament Director reserves the right to combine age groups if needed. Games will be played at BREC’s Burbank Soccer Complex. No alcoholic beverages are allowed at either park.
FIFA Laws of the Game will apply except as amended in the Playing Rules.
As always, the Baton Rouge Soccer Club looks forward to hosting you and your team from September 2-3 at the Burbank Soccer Complex.
