If you wanted a portrait of determination Cajun Soccer Club Fury 99 was a prime example in having to play a total of 240 minutes to win this week's Competitive I U18/19 State Cup at Baton Rouge's Burbank Park Soccer Complex.
CSC, which finished fifth during the regular season without several of its key players, entered championship weekend as the fourth seed and upset top-seeded Covington Gunners 3-2 in double overtime with ESA's Parrish Anderson scoring the game-winner in the first OT period.
The Fury overcame deficits of 1-0 and 3-2 against second-seeded Dynamo Juniors 99 to tie the game in the final seconds of regulation and got a goal from Anderson in the latter stages of double overtime for a 4-3 victory.
