The airline v Natchitoches cancellation also helps SSA. Natchitoches had "bus problems." Helps SSA, hurts a lot of North Louisiana teams.

Anyone aware of any district champions who ended outside the top 24 in PR?

I will say this, SSA seniors will go down as best assembled senior class in Louisiana soccer period. Those girls are not only talented but also mentally tough and rise to the occasion when it counts. Every one of these kids will be successful next level too!

They are a great group of players, but I don’t think they can compare the the 4 year run of the Ben Franklin team from 2013-2016 only 1 loss (1-0 loss to D1 state champs Mt Carmel) in 4 years and 4 state championships. Soon to follow, Sybil and the Dove dads argument, and go........

That was an awesome team which SSA never lost to btw in 2 matches. Hard to compare this group to that one given only 1 year overlap but you could say there is more parity now vs then. I will say the group of SSA players involved in their own 5 year run while maybe ending up with only 3 state titles gave up fewer goals defensively and has produced more college level players. 6 losses in 5 years with max goal diff of 1 aint too shabby... But there is still a months worth of work to do first. Then we can size em up.

Maybe get EAsports working on it.
Hard to beat them if you don’t score. But for a “ghost” handball Iin 2016 and torrential rains the following year, this year’s group may be going for their 5th straight...in Div I.
I’d put my chips on this group any day.

Comparing teams of different years is difficult at best and never can be proven. Both teams worthy of high praise, both teams feared by everyone they faced, both teams were the core of club teams that went to the nationals, both teams sent/sending many players to good college programs. I’ve never been a fan of the ‘this team was the best ever’

My prediction for Div I 1 SSA 2 Byrd 3 Mandeville 4 West Monroe 5 Acadiana 6 Dominican 7 Northshore 8 Mt. Carmel 9 St Joes 10 Lafayette 7-8-9 all will be close and could easily switch spots. It mostly depends on how Mt. Carmel finishes. Baton Rouge could finish 10
1 SSA - Toss up with Byrd for #1 2 Byrd - Games are breaking Byrd's way today 3 Mandeville - Certain on this one... Good win vs. Loyola 4 West Monroe - Will finish here 5 Acadiana - Moves down to 7 - Win vs St Thomas More changes this 6 Dominican - Finishes 5 with a win or tie vs Mt. Carmel. C ant make 4 now.
7 Northshore - Going to be 8 or 9. 8 Mt. Carmel - Could finish as high as 5 with 2 wins or as low as 9. I'm thinking 8 or 9 9 St Joes - Tie vs STM moves them up to 6 10 Lafayette - Out of the top 10. Baton Rouge will finish in the 10 spot.

I concur. The Dominican vs Mt Carmel game, which I see as a toss up , will shape much of the top 10 in D1. One exception: I’ve got Byrd as #1 by a smidgeon of 0.03. Are you counting the Slidell Hammond game? Its a district game that was postponed a while back. Doesn't matter who wins it helps SSA. Question is will it get played? Slidell vs Hammond was rescheduled for this Monday 1/28 and will be played

Final Projections. There are about 40 games Monday and the could be more with make up games. Plus there are some unreported scores. Sorry I can't give much commentary on divisions II III and IV. I just don't know enough about those teams.
Division I 1 Byrd, C.E. - Pulling for Acadiana on Monday. Acadiana win or tie keeps Byrd at the top. 2 St. Scholastica - STM win Monday gives SSA slightly better than 50-50 chance to finish 1. 3 Mandeville - Locked in 4 West Monroe - Locked in 5 Dominican - This is a desirable spot. Acadiana owns it with a win. Tie and its 50/50 Acadiana and Dominican 6 Acadiana - Lands here or 7 with a loss to STM 7 St. Joseph's Academy - Could possibly move up to 6 with Acadiana loss 8 Mt. Carmel - Needs win vs Ulab to get home game vs Northshore/24 winner 9 Northshore - Continues to fall finally landing here 10 Baton Rouge - Needs to take of business Monday Division II 1 St. Thomas More 2 Lakeshore 3 Neville 4 Destrehan 5 Central Lafourche 6 Houston, Sam 7 Ouachita Parish - Could easily switch with Caddo Magnet 8 Caddo Magnet 9 Franklin, Ben 10 Live Oak Division III 1 Vandebilt Catholic 2 Teurlings Catholic 3 University Lab 4 Archbishop Hannan 5 St. Louis 6 White, E.D. 7 Holy Savior Menard 8 North DeSoto 9 Erath 10 Cabrini Division IV 1 Loyola Prep 2 Episcopal of Acadiana 3 McGehee, Louise 4 Houma Christian 5 Acad. of Sacred Heart - N.O. 6 Sterlington 7 Newman, Isidore 8 St. Charles - Could easily be 9 9 Christ Episcopal School - Could easily be 8 10 Catholic - N.I.
