IMO there clearly needs to be a difference in the way that rules are written for keepers and field players. What parents in their right mind are going to spend thousands of dollars in fees and travel for their kid to be the backup at a bunch of national tournaments? A team such as this one is bound to end up with only one true keeper. And if the club isn't a big club and they can't pull up another player from a different team at the club, this situation is the result.
As for dealing with the situation as it stands, maybe you can find a HS junior or senior who used to play keeper but quit club soccer. I thought of one player I used to coach, but she was born in 01. Or find a keeper who plays HS but doesn't play club. Surely there are a few decent ones out there.

Just wanted to thank LSA (Sean Esker), CABOSA/Shreveport United, and Byrd High School for facilitating the arrangement for Emerson Roberts (Byrd’s starting goalie) to play with FC Tammany 02/03 during its 5 National League events. Emerson made her debut this weekend with FC Tammany in National League-MidSouth Conference play, and was instrumental in the Tigers’ 2 wins over Nashville United 02 and Collierville Lady Lobos 02 - two regional elite teams that broke bracket at last summer’s Region III Championships in North Carolina. Emerson was terrific in goal, making many outstanding saves. Thanks again to all those involved in affording Emerson this opportunity. On to Las Vegas ... ⚽️
