I know many of you dog the Shreveport soccer scene, but at least the local media appreciates us. This is evident through the prominent coverage of important high school soccer games that they provide. Consider last night's Loyola semifinals match. The lead prep sports writer from the Shreveport Times was there to cover the game, and his game report was on the front page of the sports section. Not to be outdone, KTBS TV led their 10:00 news sports segment with a well-produced and detailed report featuring video highlights from the match.
There are many other local sports events they could cover. High school basketball playoffs are heating up. There's always Tech basketball and baseball. But they dedicate coverage to high school soccer because they know it's important to a sizeable part of the local community.

It has been fantastic! The mayor even gave the girls a shout out on his Facebook page. Very nice for the team to be recognized for their hard work!

It shows how popular girls and boys high school soccer has become. It all starts with a good local club organization and we have one with Shreveport United.
