Just finished reading Sun Tzu on the drive home...It makes my job of fashionista and recruiting coordinator so much easier. "I don't care who you are. That's funny right there." any injury report?...noticed in the Advocate today that the young man was on crutches in the post game team photo. Congrats to all at SPS for maintaining the bar high in Louisiana soccer.

Someone mentioned the # of Jesuit players on the sideline. The state championship bulletin says each team can have 30 including coaches and trainers with 24 max players. How were they allowed to have more or am I reading the rule incorrectly?

I know it says no exceptions, but hopefully the coaches hammered that out with LHSAA before arrival... I for one, would have a hard time telling any players that rode the season out with me to go sit in the stands for the championship game.

So they had 41 available players? If you saw it they had a lot of players suited up. I guess if there was a bench clearing brawl, they would have an advantage. 🙄

St Paul's cuts more players from varsity right? Not sure which is worse, being cut from the team as a junior or senior after years of competitive soccer or riding the bench all year.

Give them all a medal, subway sandwich, and a bottle of Sam's choice water for that long ride home. Maybe go hang out with their sisters over in Mandeville

Jesuit would have given st paul’s Their credit. Coach Hubie never says a game was easy against opponents of that caliber. Jesuit has been on the end of games with bad scores that weren’t very one sided. An example would be the catholic game 3 years ago in the playoffs. Lost 2-0, but jesusuot completely dominated the game. Just so I am clear in who from Jesuit I am referring, the players and coaches are exempt. They played the game and I would not expect one of them to say this on this board. On the other hand, folks from the rest of the Jesuit fan base are who I am implying would be making such a case. You played and are keenly aware of the difference between 1-0, 2-0 and 3-0 games. I would agree the 2015 game was definitely more one sided, but 3-0 in the finals makes a statement. So just because it was the state championship game it was a statement? Yes it was a statement but what I am trying to say is that the score does not at all show how the game went. Both teams were fairly evenly matched, but St. Paul’s took advantage over set pieces.

Not sure how they could have 41 players on the bench. Not sure if it is a rule or something that got put in the bulletin. I took a look at the handbook and there is no mention of a roster limit for soccer either for the regular season or playoffs.

Alright, I was trying to stay out of it, but the reason St. Paul’s had so many set pieces is because Jesuit tried to take down the St. Paul’s players whenever they got in space. So yeah, they weren’t going to have one on one’s with the goalie when Jesuit was trying to take out knees and ankles before they could get there. I don’t think it was to injure(I sure as hell hope not.) I just think it was a BS way of trying to play the game.

As good as St. Pauls is at set pieces, if the Jesuit players were really smart they would have not fouled the St. pauls players. I think that St Pauls is more dangerous on a set piece than a 1v1 with goalie. Jesuit gotta do their homework!!
