Willow takes it by one in a squeaker, maybe even in ET or a dreaded PK shootout.

This a game that has been building since the 2018/19 season. Coach Barcelona’s first at the helm of the Lions.
That season they met in the Quarterfinals at University with the cubs earning a 2-0 win on their way to their first State Championship in program history. If you saw that game you could see that the Lions were building something with a very young roster.
Next season, 2019/20, they met again in the playoffs, this time in the Semifinals again at University. Cubs were winners again, 3-1 again on the way to a State Championship.
They were on the expected collision course for the State Championship the very next season as they were finally on opposite sides of the bracket. University the 1 seed and the Lions the 2 seed. But the fates intervened as the Cubs were derailed in the Semifinals at home to a fantastically and extremely experienced ED White team that said it was their turn. The Lions won their first State Championship that season, their first since 2014.
The next season they met again in the Semifinals, again at University with the Cubs prevailing 4-1 again on their way to a State Championship.
They met again last season again at University and again in the Semifinals. In probably one of the most exciting matchups in the series the Lions finally got the best of the Cubs at their own place on the way to their third State Championship in program history. 90 minutes wasn’t enough time to break 0-0 tie. 110 minutes was still not enough time to break the 0-0 tie. Even 120 minutes easy enough. Lions prevailed in KFTM 4-2.
So it has finally happened. The game that has been waiting to happen since 2019.
One interesting note: you have to go back to 2016 to find a DIII #1 seed winning the State Championship.

Halftime observations: U-High way too direct. They seem to rely on physical, kickball type of play. I can count on one hand the amount of times they completed consecutive passes. Relying on direct play and pressing Willow while attacking in offensive third. This may pay off, but we’ve seen better U-High teams in the past that demonstrate more possession-oriented style of play.
Willow - very impressive. Dominated possession and strung together multiple passes while controlling the ball up the field. Very intrigued by their ability to play horizontally and switch field of play. Controlled first half and their defense did an outstanding job of repelling direct blitzkrieg of U-High. Stay strong in the back, remain patient in midfield, and the opportunities will present themselves.
Willow takes this in the second half.

They have a different style of players than to play a possession style of play
