Although St Louis is losing some GREAT seniors, they have the same talent waiting in line for their turn; they will again be a dynamite team in 06/07; remember, they still have Oertling and he has a way of bringing out hidden talent in the kids he coaches......

soccer07 yes there are players waiting to play in line as you say but there are no Irvs, Thevenots, or Landrys these players game knowledge and skill will be missed badly. I have seen what they have on the bench good rec players only.

Their bench was very weak this year. You could see the level of play drop significantly when subs were put in. Thevenot has the ability to create his own goal scoring opportunities and make things happen out of nothing. Unfortunately, I don't see another playing being able to do that for the team in the next few years. St. Louis will be good next year but it will be very tough for them to return to the finals.

st pauls will have a strong squad, but not up to their normal standards. What do you base this on? St. Paul's had without a doubt the strongest bench in District 5. They return about 10-11 seniors, a bigger senior class than this year. All of those seniors are capable of starting, so they should be a very experienced team. Of those 9-10, 7 started at one point or another during the season and 2 played a good bit off of the bench. Sure, the JV didn't have as great a season as they normally do, but look at the numbers kept on the varsity this year due to injuries and you see why. St. Paul's Varsity had about 25 players on the roster this year. Also Michael Pellisier the sophomore returns. So you're looking at 8 starters right there with another 4 players that I know of who got significant playing time this year. Next year's team will be just as capable as this year's, especially if it can avoid injuries.

ED White should be strong the next two years with a strong sophomore class this year. Next year will only have 4 senoirs but 4 very good senoirs and the sophomore class of this year will have to step it up for them and they should make a good run

D1-Jesuit and Laffy, along with other up-and-coming teams. D2-Vandy, of course. D3-St. Louis will continue to be a strong team. Also look out for TC. With only losing two seniors, they're looking like a team that will be deep in the playoffs next year.

What does it matter about their bench, they won state, and had like 24 or 25 shutouts, don't know about u, but thats hard to do, no matter what u say, that had a great team this year.

i agree with shanksta13 on SPS. At the end of their season they only had 4 seniors starting the game. The rest were juniors and two sophomores, one of which was keeper. Returning are studds like Frank Breedon, Phillip Gilles, Michael Pellisier and also some others. St. Paul's will definettaly be a strong squad that others are gonna have to watch out for, just as they are every year.

Read the thread man. We are talking about next year. Since St. Louis had some seniors that started, the players that sat the bench this year will have to start next year. If the bench wasn't good this year, they will have trouble next year. Do you think they will be able to pull players out of thin air.

St. Louis had mostly underclassmen starting. Only 3 or 4 (depending on the game) senior starters. While the seniors lost (Thevenot, Clark, Boissano) are as good as anybody's, Every other key player returns. Of course this is a program where a rebuilding year means going to the semi-finals.

St. Louis is won't have ross next year so they might struggle.. they will have a few talented seniors but they won't be a powerhouse next year... but teurlings on the other hand. if they play to there level probably will be untouchable....
As for DII if STM fowards can finish they will be untouchable next year... even with only 2 seniors starting...there bench will be very deep and there starters very strong...

Lookout for Magnet who has 7 freshman who started or played a good bit for Varsity. If their SUSC Levski team wins state then they will be one of the top contenders in the next 3 years.
